    Finally an in depth video with demonstration on how to keep crs shrimps. Most just give you the factors but don't show you the actual setting up of the tank. With information on how often to cycle it. Thank you so much for this.

    Is it safe for shrimp if I use phosphoric acid to lower the pH of the water?

    Im setting up may first crs tank. substrate is ada amazonia ver.2 without bacter/becterium.
    What would be the water change routine while cycling the tank?

    • @worldofaquariums5534
      @worldofaquariums5534  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really depends as each tank is different but I would try maintain ammonia ast around 4ppm and nitrates low (your nitrates should spike very high when cycling)
      This will probably be like 2 50% water change first week, one second week eg and you go from there

    If I may request, can you show a video on how you do a water change? Ie. If you just take out water then add in new one(remineralized RO)? How you clean the substrate? Do you use a siphon to clean your substrate? And if so, how do you do so in a tank that has alot of items. Like moss, cholla wood, plants. And how you do it to prevent frys from getting into the siphon(I keep having that problem) so I have to take a look at my siphoned water container to look for baby shrimplets to save 😅. I'm sure different people have different methods. Thank you so much in advance. I binged watch all your videos on shrimps.

    • @brazycovid
      @brazycovid ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can typically just tie a very fine net to the siphon itll still do water changes for the most part without having to worry about sucking up fry, cleaning the substrate isnt something i heard as something that has to be done, other then when it loses its buffering ability then having to replace the whole substrate. Sorry for the 1 year late response lol

      @@brazycovid yes correct, you can simply use a panty and a rubber band or something. Snails are also very beneficial to add to your (shrimp) tank they clean waste and prevent ammonia from building up. Add more plants that Shrimp enjoy, like Java fern etc, as they do well off shrimp poop as well. But Pond snails or bladder snails so I’ve learned, are the best option for shrimp.

      ADA soil is on the expensive side of soils for aquariums but it works really well. The way I see it personally is, if I have lots of success using ADA soil, I would rather spend more on a premium brand then another if i increase the amount of shrimp breeding

    How to feed shrimp?you feed every day?

    • @Cleeon
      @Cleeon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, not always, you must look to the food, if it stay inside aquarium, even a very little bit of it, then no feeding, skip on next day, till you see it gone, then you can give new food, a little, but if your shrimps can finish it at single day, then by tomorrow you can give a little more

      Btw, almond leaves and Indian almond leaves are not the same.. why not call them Cattappa leaves to avoid confusion. Yeah it’s distantly related to the almond tree but not now and I’d hate to see somebody lose shrimp by throwing in an almond leaf. I have an almond teee and nearly threw it in but luckily I googled it and didn’t. But I’m no expert in leaves so maybe it’s ok too? Do you know? Sub’d and liked!

      Main problem with soil tanks is the amount of ammonia leached out. I understand the wait time sucks, but it is what i recommend, especially with more sensitive shrimp. Most videos or articles I have read recommend same thing for shrimps

    • @brazycovid

      @@MsLila44 Ghost shrimp are a neocaridina species, crystal reds are a caridina species which requires more care and patience, neocaridina tanks usually can be done cycling within a week, but since the soil drops pf and leeches ammonia it requires time to dissipate and that's why the cycle process takes a lot longer for these shrimp. Neocaridina don't require soil since their water doesn't need to be buffered(ph drops) , you can use plain rocks for your ghost shrimp. hope my response clears up the reasoning.
