Amazingly Portable Reflectors and Diffusers for Travel and Hiking

- Photography reflectors and diffusers don't have to be clumsy to carry. These are the smallest most portable compact travel diffusers and reflectors for hiking to a location and doing small stuff like a video youtube vlog or small photoshoot. If you're by yourself with no assistants and there's a bit of a wind or breeze, then these photography light reflectors might be a good choice, especially if just lighting up a face.

Tip for a case. If you have a hard case with a foam top or similar take out the foam and throw a couple of diffusers on top for padding. You can even fit some small light modifiers on top. Good for around town maybe not so much for flying.

About two hours before it was delivered, I got a text message saying that I was getting a FedEx delivery and that I would have to be an adult and have I.D. There are lots of text message scams, so I ignored it. My mother and I were trying to go do our grocery shopping and ne thing after another was delaying us. We were really behind schedule for the day. We're finally in the truck, seat belts on and ready to roll when the FedEx truck pulls up to the end of the driveway! :D :D

I have to comment today; Markus, while I absolutely love and respect what you do and do consistently, the cat noise when one of the reflectors shone on Kera today had me lose it! Thanks for going through the immense setup, gear acquisitioin, actual use and honest opinions on this area, it wouldn't be the same without you (and Kera too! lol).
That recording of a pissed off cat freaked out my 2 house cats. They ran around the house looking for cats fighting. I hope Marcus doesn't do that again or I will have to watch with headphones on.

For creative people looking for creative solutions there is nothing better, or cheaper than what I call "Grown man's Inker Toys" 1/2 inch PVC pipe and fittings. Years ago I built a frame and support for a 3X6 foot reflector using a silver and white vinyl holiday table cloth held in place with binder clips. If it matters, you can paint the PVC any color to look like metal.

Love the handle idea. You could always use one if those insta360 selfie sticks and put the clamps on that. It's about 1m when fully extended and will fit in the bag when packed down. It weighs nothing. More elegant and less cumbersome than a stick or aluminium pole.

That was informative and fun to watch! Nothing like getting out of the basement for sunshine time together, to clear out the AI blues. I'm going to guess that if you trained an AI on all of Markus's videos up to yesterday, it would never predict that "let's play with reflectors on the front lawn" would be the next video!

With your foam core reflector: If you put a piano hinge to fold it up and some orange stripes on it, why aren't there commercial products like this?

I watched so many videos about diffusing light for photo/videography and yet I still didn’t put it on my priority list. I got at least instances when I was shooting and I actually need diffuser more than ever.
Edit: I guess reflector can solve my problem of lighting my cat to film them.

@@MarkusPix thank you Markus, I found it now. I actually found some aluminum tibes on eBay I can get two lengths of 5/8" OD and 38cm long and join them with a PVC tube with 16mm ID and then clamp around the central PVC sheath to hold the two 38cm lengths together. That has packs down to a max length of only 38cm and then I can still hold an 80cm 32" reflector but in an ultra compact bag. You're the best!! I really appreciate your help!

Why does your audio sound so fake? The video looks like you're standing far away, but the audio sound like standing right next to me shouting into my ear. It's so weird. As if all the talking was done later in the studio. Something is very off.
