One of their best conferences, alongside E3 2004 and 2006.
This was the last greatest Nintendo E3 or E3 in general, that truly embraced the fun factor and imagination of Nintendo that's now been absent for years. They've become pretty corporate, tired and formulaic. Sony is far worse though with their dismal sterile 'the future is now' state of play presentations.

The Big N was at their best during the NES & SNES generation (Late 80's/early 90's).
I'll never forget the feelings I had when they announced DKCR. Jesus best day in my life! It still gives me goosebumps when I watch it.

A new Zelda, the return of Kid Icarus, a new Metroid, a new Kirby, a new Donkey Kong, an new Mario Spinoff and on top of that a new handheld console. What an E3 for Nintendo!
1:03:00 that whole talk about how the 3ds can communicate via internet whithout the owner even knowing would look so bad if it was today, with all the concerns we have about privacy, crazy how just 10 years changed the entire world perception on that.
Man a new Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Golden Sun, Dragon Quest, the first home console Kirby game in years, and the 3DS reveal. This was an AMAZING E3 and still is.
This was the first e3 conference I watched! Can't believe it's been 6 years already.
Just watching this again for the parts where Iwata and Reggie talked about the Nintendo 3DS. Goodbye to the handheld legend. R.I.P. 2011-2020

Natanhael Alvarado Are you really sure about that? Nintendo hasn't done a press conference in Tokyo since 2010 all thanks to Nintendo Direct. They don't even have a own event anymore. It's bad how Nintendo has fallen in Japan when smartphones are eating up the market over there. TGS is going to be bigger this year with all smartphones companies and in the last generation it was Microsoft who ironically did press conferences before TGS in 2006 to 2009 with announcements. Sony used to do this back in the PS1 and PS2 era but never for PS3, their main platform was PSP.

In all the years I've been watching these conferences, this is still my favorite. Oh, 2004 certainly is a classic, but on rewatching it feels like the conference was designed by fans on a message board. It felt like they were playing a part for the crowd. Here, they strike a great balance between impressing viewers and being themselves. The show guaranteed my hype for just about everything they had to announce. Sure there were plenty of titles that turned out to be subpar, but in the moment they were just as exciting as anything.

That's all e3 ever is or was. A hype machine. Not saying it's inherently a bad thing, just it is what it is by design. Not by some magic.

This was a great E3 from Nintendo. Last one which did good. Tons of great games for DS and Wii, spiced by next gen handheld console. More of this Nintendo.
today is the 5th Anniversary of the Nintendo 3DS so Awesome i love playing games like MARIO KART 7, SUPER SMASH BROS FOR 3DS , NEW SUPER MARIO BROS 2 AND MORE NINTENDO 3DS TAKE A LOOK INSIDE

warriors code 2002 was also great. It had Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, Wind Waker, and Metroid Prime. Heavy Hitters.

Unique Unit Skyward Sword don't need a sensor bar. I guess the problem was the calibration. You have to calibrate the control every time you pick it after letting it down for sometime.
I remember watching this conference live... It was so badass. They were constantly raising the hype level throughout the presentation. Afterwards, they even announced The Legend Of Zelda - Ocarina Of Time 3D on social media. E3 2010 was amazing for Nintendo fans.

This is the best conference ever! Not only by Nintendo standards.
Most people have multiplayer memories from GoldenEye, but me and my friend have played through Kirby's Epic Yarn about five times. Kirby's Epic Yarn is so much fun and I don't know what me and my friend would have ever done without it :)

That Skyward Sword controls presentation is an engineers' nightmare. Even though I enjoyed playing the game, this is hard to watch.

The best thing about Ninty's E3 2010 wasn't the conference. Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and the 3DS expo all pleased--but the best bit was surely the hour after the show, where screenshots of Pilotwings, Star Fox, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Resi: Revelations and MGS3 just appeared out of nowhere. It was the fact they had screenshots that biggled the mind. And then, shortly after those, Ocarina of Time 3DS appeared, too. With screens! One bombshell after another--huge bombshells. Peerless.
I remember this so fondly. It was so exciting seeing more and more just show up out of nowhere.

i love it when a company shows off a game and then goes, "oh, yeah. it's coming out in just a few months!" so much better than getting an unrealistic "target" render trailer and then the game is ultimately released several years later and looking like a lesser version than what we were originally shown. i'm looking at you, ubisoft.

Wait, there were 15 minutes of press conference after the Kid Icarus trailer? Man, I must have knocked myself out when I jumped up in excitement.
So many great Wii games that I don't have yet, and I have a ton of great Wii games. I have 50 Wii games and non of them are Shovelware. That goes to show people that the Wii does have many great games that people can buy. There's tons more that I don't have yet. Like all the ones shown here. I did have Skyward Sword but I traded it to help pay for my Wii U. Man what a dumb decision that was lol.

It's funny looking at it now, imo it's pretty obvious miyamoto was way over dramatizing his movements making it harder for the wii to pick up the correct signals. Wiimote inputs are way more precise when you're not making huge, sweeping movements. The controls work but he really looks like someone who doesn't play games as much in this demo.

Back when the gaming industry was allowed to be the gaming industry, instead of being forced to pander to a bunch of woke Karens, while also being forced to release games unfinished, so they can lure kids with online purchases.

I find it odd that Miyamoto used his right hand when demoing Skyward Sword even though he's left handed.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why the motion controls seemed off.

I agree , but keep in mind that companies can't have great E3 all years because projects take time to create , just look at microsoft it took them 5 years to have a great E3 (they sucked since 2010)
True, though those were so terrible the way they were because of all the Kinect stuff they showed. Effing Disneyland Adventures and Sesame Street in the 2011 Conference, worst E3 conference EVER right there. XD

When E3 for Nintendo was good.
It always surprises me how long Miyamoto and Bill powered through the Zelda demo when the controller issues were apparent from the beginning, it made the game look worse to me. I was in my 20s and already moving away from Nintendo and little moments like this just made me feel like they were out of touch. Why didn't they restart the demo, was the E3 schedule just too intense to really make any changes?

Hopefully e3 2013 will be just as good. With all those rumored game announcements but you cant top the ending with the 3ds I expect e3 2013 to be as good as 2010 but not better, because of all the rumors im excited.
