I saw the movie's history on Animat's channel. He believes that even if it never got stolen, it still wouldn't have been a good movie. Even if it had more decent animation than what we got now, the writing is still messy and all screwed up, the consistency still wouldn't make any sense, there's still the disgusting innuendo and the characters would still be unlikable douchebags.

I hate that so many promising movies were scrapped or changed because they were "too weird" or "Too dark" for kids. I watched a lot of weird, dark stuff in the 80's and they were great movies. A lot of the newer ones just end up being generic with really similar characters and plotlines. This must be really frustrating for the creators.
Nickelodeon: Fine you can have a teen targeted show if you tone down the darkness. Invader ZIM: gets itself cancelled by permanently scarring children with the "organ episode" literally titled 'Dark Harvest,' which aired during what was meant to be Nick's teen programming block.
That movie got surprisingly little fanfare tbh, it seems like hardly anyone even cared, same for the Rocko's Modern Life and Invader Zim reboot movies. I mean, they're well loved shows, especially Invader Zim, you'd think more people would talk about it.
I actually took a class with Matthew Luhn, who is a storyboard artist at Pixar. He was talking about Newt and said "yeah, my wife worked on that for two years". Ouch.
Theory: The guy who stole the “better” food fight , trying to stop the world from seeing it, but he only made it worse causing a worse version to be released. Could it be that FoodFight is the bane of the universe, we need to stop the apocalypse.
That clip from Toy Story the Black Friday reel was disturbing for me to watch, because Woody was basically acting like a heartless slave-driver to the other toys, not to mention he was actually intending to murder Buzz. Thank goodness his character was given a much-needed overhaul for the final product.

The original concept for Chicken Little isn't what it turned out to be in the final product, it was originally going to be more faithful to the classic tale.

When I was a kid I saw a movie named: "Manatu". It was a movie about a family that played a game where you had to say the truth, But if you didn't, they can die. I tried to find the movie since 2013 but never found it... I think the movie just disappear from the Internet :(
I cant remember EXACTLY, but it was something like this: A family was playing a game, once you've started playing, you cant stop. (I think XD) Everytime a person falled on a certain place (on the game) a big head (like an hologram) went out from the game and tell him/her a fact. Then he/she had to say if it was true or false. If he/she lied, then all the family was teleported (lol) into a real game, where someone could die. If they survived, they came back to their home and continue playing. Until someone win the game

Bruh. Development of movies and video games is kept highly secretive. Back ups are usually kept in house and under lock and key to prevent leaks and theft, though obviously that doesn't keep insiders from commiting the theft. Also, in 2002 cloud software wasn't a thing yet, so backing up to a cloud service wasn't an option (and even if it was, they wouldn't have used it since that would've compromised the security of the footage). The best option they could've had, and should've done, is make another physical back up and kept it off site. That way when the original discs and onsite back ups were stolen, they'd still have the off sites.
I see this incident simular to toy story 2, though toy story 2's incidence is different from food fights Differences: - toy story 2 was deleted by accident, thankfully a pixar employee had a back up copy. - food fight's hard drive's were stolen & never recovered even to this very day, so they had to reworked it, the whole thing. The end results: -toy story 2 came out amazing, & its still good even to this very day. -food fight came out god awful. ( i havent seen food fight my self but i heard its terrible.) Thankfully i never saw it.
About Brandos role in Big Bug Man, he requested that they record his lines at his house instead of the studio. When they got to his house and rang the bell, Marlon answered the door, dressed as an old woman. The reason being he wanted to do his lines in character. Thats dedication if Ive ever seen it

It didn't. Newt was canceled because of Rio so Pixar didn't want the idea to go to waste so the used some of the story elements from newt in Inside Out
honestly, the behind the scenes development for Toy Story absolutely astounds me. like, one of the single most Iconic and beloved characters in the entire animation medium was almost the villain. Woody, the literal Pixar Poster boy, would've almost been so different. until, at some point, somebody went "Wait... This dosen't work." it will never not blow my mind, the complete 180 he had.
This may interest some of you. A few years back on the final day of Toon Disney before they became Disney XD. They had a 4 hour special as a goodbye. During this special they had interviews with animators of different Disney movies & shows. And the most interesting part was they had shown unreleased Toon Disney episodes pilots and movies. One of the movies being king of the sun it wasn't the full movie but it was original clips from the movie put together and mixed with an interview with the director of the film. The final hour was mainly different shorts made by Disney fans the one I remember was the strangest one, where Mickey became an octopus. The final round 10 minutes were the best of Toon Disney shows which was a compilation of different Toon Disney clips while a song like I will remember you was playing (this special aired around 8:00 - 12:00 PM est. time).
I feel like Pixar walked the line well between making Woody a relatable jerk and ultimately becoming likeable after his character development. The only real route I can see for BF Woody is some sort of karmic comeuppance which would have been a little dark for a kids movie, especially with how Sid is in the final.

I'm actully glad they changed Toy Story the original seemed a lot more meaner in tone. I think that change was for the better. Woody becomes much more likeable in the re-worked version.
Actually the whole "jerk Woody" Sounds more entertaining. Just the dry sarcasm of him saying that he didn't shove buzz out of the window alone made me laugh.

When I was about 6 or 7, a kid at school who's dad worked for an animation company wanted to invite everyone over for his birthday party, where him and his dad wanted to show a special preview of a film his dad's company made called Avalanche Kids. From what I remember, it was about some kids who set off to climb Mount Everest, but encounter many problems on the way. The film had very good quality animation, but I don't remember if it had good writing or not. The film did get released in late 2006, but when I looked it up for curiosity reasons, I could not find it anywhere. No Wikipedia pages, no pictures, no information what so ever. What's strange is that the film did get released on DVD, and was published by a publisher that publishes most direct video kids films. If anyone has any information on this or have seen copies when browsing DVDs at stores, do tell me because I'm interested in seeing the full film.

For anyone who is a fan of Thomas and Friends in 1999 there was an original (somewhat better) version of "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" known as the Director's Cut. It was lost due to critical test screenings.
There are some clips online with PT Boomer, but that was a second draft. The first draft was ruined by the directors and Britt Alcroft even said "I've never seen any of my creations get torn up and thrown on the floor and changed as much as this movie."

Surprised no one in the comments has talked about Gigantic. It was a cancelled Disney film that would adapt the Jack and the Beanstalk tale in the Disney style about Jack befriending a giant girl.

A family was playing a game, once you've started playing, you cant stop. (I think XD) Everytime a person falled on a certain place (on the game) a big head (like an hologram) went out from the game and tell him/her a fact. Then he/she had to say if it was true or false.

Bruh. Development of movies and video games is kept highly secretive. Back ups are usually kept in house and under lock and key to prevent leaks and theft, though obviously that doesn't keep insiders from commiting the theft. Also, in 2002 cloud software wasn't a thing yet, so backing up to a cloud service wasn't an option (and even if it was, they wouldn't have used it since that would've compromised the security of the footage). The best option they could've had, and should've done, is make another physical back up and kept it off site. That way when the original discs and onsite back ups were stolen, they'd still have the off sites.
I see this incident simular to toy story 2, though toy story 2's incidence is different from food fights
Differences:
- toy story 2 was deleted by accident, thankfully a pixar employee had a back up copy.
- food fight's hard drive's were stolen & never recovered even to this very day, so they had to reworked it, the whole thing.
The end results:
-toy story 2 came out amazing, & its still good even to this very day.
-food fight came out god awful. ( i havent seen food fight my self but i heard its terrible.) Thankfully i never saw it.

This may interest some of you. A few years back on the final day of Toon Disney before they became Disney XD. They had a 4 hour special as a goodbye. During this special they had interviews with animators of different Disney movies & shows. And the most interesting part was they had shown unreleased Toon Disney episodes pilots and movies. One of the movies being king of the sun it wasn't the full movie but it was original clips from the movie put together and mixed with an interview with the director of the film. The final hour was mainly different shorts made by Disney fans the one I remember was the strangest one, where Mickey became an octopus. The final round 10 minutes were the best of Toon Disney shows which was a compilation of different Toon Disney clips while a song like I will remember you was playing (this special aired around 8:00 - 12:00 PM est. time).

I feel like Pixar walked the line well between making Woody a relatable jerk and ultimately becoming likeable after his character development. The only real route I can see for BF Woody is some sort of karmic comeuppance which would have been a little dark for a kids movie, especially with how Sid is in the final.

When I was about 6 or 7, a kid at school who's dad worked for an animation company wanted to invite everyone over for his birthday party, where him and his dad wanted to show a special preview of a film his dad's company made called Avalanche Kids. From what I remember, it was about some kids who set off to climb Mount Everest, but encounter many problems on the way. The film had very good quality animation, but I don't remember if it had good writing or not.
The film did get released in late 2006, but when I looked it up for curiosity reasons, I could not find it anywhere. No Wikipedia pages, no pictures, no information what so ever. What's strange is that the film did get released on DVD, and was published by a publisher that publishes most direct video kids films. If anyone has any information on this or have seen copies when browsing DVDs at stores, do tell me because I'm interested in seeing the full film.

+blameitonjorge It was a fucking mess to handle on the standard wikia format. I remember there being dozen's of removed articles with false information within just a month, editors we're getting constantly banned and re-banned not to mention we managed to catch on a bunch of troll's and spammer's. We kept trying to get help from Wikia but they just shut us out time after time. By late 2014 most of us we're just sick of it, so we decided to start fresh with a new site domain where we could handle the wiki a lot more better and actually start focusing on documenting Lost media again. That's basically it.
That being said, we at the Lost media wiki thank you for supporting us and using our site for source's in you're videos.
