My money would either Go on the Hyundai Tucson or the Nissan Qashqai with their sophisticated multi link suspension but I can't afford the £34,00 asking price for the Trekna+ and I could just stretch to the base level SE Connect at £28,000
Hyundai kia have too many engine issues across the line up in usa , Australia resulting in numerous recalls for engine fires , engine failures, brake fluid leaks, and electrical related recalls in s. Korea . The quashkai looks interesting and is a product of a rejuvenated nissan.
I ordered one for delivery this week, yesterday am told it’s gone back for a “rebuild” What? It’s a new model, what’s wrong with it? Dealer says they may be changing a part….. on a brand new model? No one can provide an proper answer. Would have been my 3rd QQ, Thinking maybe should change and go elsewhere.
Brilliant review! This is so far the best review I have seen. I really like how you list the safety features, compare this model to the old one and explain how different engines works. I was close to buy the previous model but the quality inside was not good enough for me so I've ended with a Volvo S60 instead. I'm glad to hear the quality is better in this version.
I really like this model of Qahqai test drove one the other day was impressive and specs really good interior looks and feels better than it looks on internet. Outside style more an individual choice, but I think it looks really good and it doesn't look too much like anything else out just now.
I stopped by my local Nissan showroom and was introduced to this car today. The Qashqai was never on my list for I was looking at the latest Mitsibushi and Mercedes but after the salesman took me through this car and what it offers, I was completely sold. I thought that this suits me well. I am waiting for the Hybrid and self-charge version which will be available at the end of the year. Brilliant car and brilliant in-depth review.
I had a 2016 model which I loved, but went all the bells and whistles for my 2019, apart from the reflection from the dash onto the screen I have absolutely adored my car from day one. It's an absolute joy to drive and is a proper work horse too. Just can't fault it.
Took delivery of a Tekna model October 1st, and I can't fault it, I owned a qashqai before this, I had it for 4 years I thought it was good, but the new one is a totally different car, it handles better and and being the tekna theres plenty of things to play with in the menu, especially if your into gadgets lol. the pro pilot is good. and for a 1.3 the engine has plenty power at the lower of the Horse power offered, I've been getting about 41.8 average so quite pleased with that.
Finally, a review that doesn't slate the 20" wheels with regard to ride quality. I have just bought a 1yr old 21 plate Tenka+, and the ride with the 20" wheels is superb. Very smooth and very quiet. Thoroughly enjoying it.
Hi, is this in the UK roads? how did you find it over bumps? I am weighing my options between Tekna and Tekna+ and only the alloy wheel difference does worry me on the Tekna+. Thanks
Spent weeks looking around but when you actually configure the rivals and put on the kit you want like safety, around camera, HUD, adaptive headlights etc they all become very pricey. Yes, they are better in some aspects but for the overall package, Qashqai wins for me. Particularly with the launch special edition Premier which looks a bargain given the tech package. Good review stressing the importance of usability. Infotainment graphics are large but that's just what you want when trying to use on the move. Same for physical buttons/dials they cost more than putting them on the touch screen but usability is king. Other more expensive brands save money by using the touch screen and then charge you more. Good to see they have done away with the "stick" drive selector in the auto. These are no longer connected to anything physical and having a button for the "Park" is so much easier and quicker to use. I have the old Qashqai and the accelerator is very sensitive, simply selecting Eco mode tames that.
It'd be helpful to explain what features are for what trims. Not many people are going to bother with 20" rims on a Qashqai and compromise ride quality when you're hauling kids around.
Just bought a 2 year old used one. Incredible how much you get for the price of a second hand Qashqai. Skoda Karoq is 10k euro's up in price for a comparable model.
Check out the 2 videos I posted of my MY23 Qashqai Ti dash rattle with only 17500 km on the clock, before you consider buying one of these. At the moment I am struggling to get it fixed under warranty, Nissan service centre in Devonport Tasmania is saying there is no problem with that noise. Nissan Qashqai MY23 dash rattle video.
The Qashqai is fairly recent to Canadian market and I think we still have the previous model. Does anybody have an idea how much longer before we also get this upgraded version ? :)
Do they make this one for the U.S? How do you right side drivers like all the controls, radio, air, etc on the left in the UK? Are you mostly left handed over there?
they will cut own sale with no diesel offerings while in the same time Renault have it and all other EU car makers !! its not stupid USA which dont care for diesels because they have 30-40 cent price for liter of petrol

Apart from the infotainment system, head up display and maybe the seats, my 2008 model of this is better! Will not be in a rush to buy a Nissan going by this standard, stuck in a time warp and looks cheap.
@@abbofun9022 Nah not really mate horses for courses we bought one it wasn’t very good the build quality was poor IMO and I now have an Audi Q3 Vorsprung and it’s superb 👍
Not sure what made it horrendous for you, but I too own a Tekna model and I look forward to every trip in it. Been a Nissan owner for the past 25 years. Very satisfying experiences!
This car is shit as compared to the old one MidnightEdition..For instance, no raised rails, beige interior on the entry models, 18 inch wheels on some entry models...yet more expensive than the Midnight
Qashqai, Tucson, Sportage, Tiguan, Ateca, Karoq.

Tiguan.
Nissan is cutting it's own throat by failing to offer a diesel.

There's no compromise on ride quality..... not in my opinion anyway!

Has it still got a noddy horn?
Or has Nissan finally put a decent twin tone horn on it.
😂😂 One thing we forgot to try!
@@ParkersTV I just messaged my mate who’s picked one up on Friday and he said the new horn is much better.👍🏻
I've got a 66 plate Tekna and the horn sounds like the one from Barbie's tricycle.

How good is the Bose sound system?is it worth the £500 option upgrade on tekna?
