    Just cancelled my Kia Sportage in favour of a 1yr old Quashqai. Real issues with delivery times and couldn't afford to wait any longer.
    Have to say the Nissan has surprised me.... very very comfortable and quiet. I have the 20" wheels and tend to disagree with the view that they affect the ride.
    I have some sort of load restraint fitted on to the floor panels of the boot.... figured out the poorest, but not the use!!!!
    Enjoyed the video, and can thoroughly recommend the vehicle a an owner.

    • @Steve-Cross
      @Steve-Cross 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with you about the 20-inch wheels. The added bonus of the multi-link Suspension on the rear, makes for a very comfortable ride. I also like the blue. It really raises the interior. I'm not sure how anything can clash with black lol. I hope you enjoy your Qashqai and have many happy years of motoring.

      @@Steve-Cross I like the blue too.... test drove one but the engine management light came on straight away on ignition and stayed on!! Somewhat off putting for a test drive. I've ended up with a white one which has a lovely paint finish. It's grown on me....

    • @Steve-Cross
      @Steve-Cross 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@loveclose Hi. Yes I did look at the white one, but thought better of it. It looks stunning when it's clean. But I do a lot of travelling down muddy country lanes. So I have gone with gunmetal. I think it might hide the grime a little better. They also had a black one, but I think I would have the same trouble with that. Also. It really didn't show the cars lines off, which to me, is one of its major features. It's good looks.

    • @loveclose
      @loveclose 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Steve-Cross In total agreement over the black Qashqai.... looks great in the showroom, but for my money, not so visible at night. A white one would definitely not suit your needs! Despite that, I've found that my non- off road driving doesn't make it look too grubby.... worst time fir me was the dust during the hot summer.

    • @Steve-Cross
      @Steve-Cross 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@loveclose I am having mine paint protected with A product called carbon shield technology. According to the salesman, it helps provide protection against muck and water sticking to the paintwork. Making it easier to clean. They also treat the interior. probably with a sort of Scotchgard.The whole treatment cost a few hundred pounds, but I think it would be worth it. According to the blurb, it has a lifetime guarantee, as long as I own the car. You also get a full range of cleaning products from the manufacturer. It is called LifeShine from Auto Glym.

    I am very impressed with the new Qashqai. I only had the previous mark 2 generation, for a few days as a hire car. I was very impressed with that, as well. I think I have decided to go for the tekna plus, as my next car. Yes you are correct; when you said it was getting into Audi, VW and BMW territory, but only the base models, for the price. I would think they would be twice the price, if they were spect up to the same standard as the Tekna plus. I also love the new styling, on the latest generation of Qashqai; over its rivals. I can see it still looking good, in 5 years time, where the other brands in its class, may well start to look tired and dated.

    Once again a great review Tish, well done! Style wise this is a big improvement but as seems to be the way today there are compromises to be had. The Qashqai like many others compromises real world visibility with the up swept rear bodywork, probably no issue with this car given the 360 camera. 20" wheels on the demo car look good but as you mention these will compromise the ride and tyres are likely to be expensive to replace. When I come to the point to change my car I will add this car to the test drive list along with the new Sportage amongst others. I like the interior design but like you I'm not sure about the blue and grey.

    Why didn't you talk about the HEADS UP DISPLAY? Come on. That's one of the best things about the new Qashqai that most of the other rivals don't have. And it's not just a HUD, it's one of the best HUDs in the market. That's why we bought a new Qashqai Tekna for the family.
    And it was a similar case with the old Qashqai as well. Nissan is always unbeatable when it comes to technology. When none of the rivals had 360 cam, old Qashqai had it. It brought a lot of comfort to us when parking, etc.

    • @NeilHall

      I'm looking forward to the HUD, it was great to use it on a test drive. But I've got a nagging feeling I'll soon be switching it off and reverting to the conventional dials. It might be a good one for a new route when you're frequently looking at the sat-nav.

    Tish, you made my day with this video. :) Always nice to see your gorgeous self doing a review (hugs), though on this one I had to look up what Qashqai meant (due to the fact it doesn't go by that name here in America).
    My mother owns a Rogue (2019 version) and I agree that it's a nice vehicle to drive, though I personally wouldn't buy one myself because it's a bit small for me (I'm 6') and the boot isn't as large as I would've liked for my needs (primarily groceries). This was why I decided on the Honda CR-V (certified pre-owned) over it, Toyota RAV4, and a Jeep.

This new one looks really nice, and it clearly has a TON of equipment. Funnily enough, to my knowledge, JLR is the only company in the US to offer a heated front windshield. Nissan is making a comeback; especially here in the US with the new Pathfinder, Rogue, Frontier pickup and of course, the new Z that unfortunately you Brits will be missing out on.

    I bought a Hyundai Kona late last month, but I was also considering the Rogue Sport (along with the Buick Encore GX). I love my Kona... except for the trunk (boot). It looked fine when I test drove the car and it was empty, but I put a small snow shovel, blanket, and jumper cables in there, and now I find myself cursing every weekend when I go shopping for groceries (I'm a single dad). If I had it to do over again, I would probably have purchased the "Qashqai."

    Nissan really ruined the front of this Qashqui. It could have looked so much better if they had just been braver and done away with the cheap dull looking lower lights. All that was needed was the thin lights that go up and they should have connected to the grill. Would have looked much better.
