Loved the closeup of the funny trowel-it was really cool to see how it works. This video showed the real side of concrete work. There’s allot of problems that come up abs that’s just how it goes. Excellent pour!!!
That was from the the 'Newhart Show' from the 90's. "Hi, I'm Larry. This is my brother Darrell, and my other brother Darrell" But yes, I'm definitely weird. Love your channel, and you have two great young men in Cali. You should be very proud of them. 🙂
I have a big question. I need to ask, in multiple videos you guys have tied in whatever new slab you were pouring into the existing slab/foundation. If you ever demolish that new swab, and need to remove those rebar ties into an old foundation, how do you remove those?
At 16:00, without fiber and curing compound, you predict cracks maybe as early as 1-3 days. ... How was the original driveway installed, and did it have any cracking like you would expect, with current quality concrete in a new driveway made without fiber and CC? How do the 2 driveways compare today and a year from now? I don't think fiber was used in the first DW as it is kind of a new thing isn't it?
Hey Mr. Odell. I have a question. I had some roofers destroy my drive way. I cut the area out, jack hammered it and removed it. I then poured my own concrete on a 3ft x12 area. I followed your videos almost to the T. But I have Latiance and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. The Concrete is hard, but its has this dusty layer on it. Can I use a 7 inch angle grinder with a concrete diamond wheel to remove it. And is it true that its called Latiance if its a white powdery dusty layer. My wife tires turns it into dust as she turns the wheel on it.
One last thing. I got the Acid and it took the white powdery layer away. Thanks. Now its somewhat matching in color to the old concrete which is a good thing, but now it has a sandy layer. Any ideas
We got one truck, they forgot to put the fiber in. The next truck we couldn’t see fiber. The plant manager guaranteed there was fiber. The plant manager was so mad he drove an hour out to the job site. Sure enough, the last couple yards all the fiber came out all matted and balled up. The fiber wasn’t mixed well at all. Cement cracked all over the place. Bad batch. No discounts. That was back when it was cheap $220/yard3000psi. Now they want $400

Sawzall and a ten inch wood blade works wonders on tree roots
Came here to say this. Much cheaper and safer than a chainsaw chain too
I tried the Sawzall as well, and it wasn't penetrating
Nice work boss .👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
💪 Heck yeah! OG Odell Bros! 💕👏👍 Great job crew.
And holy hell 12:16 that trowel! 😲😱🤣 has some stories to tell
Yes if it could only talk
This is me and my brother Doug, and my other brother Doug... 😉

Love your videos. Was wondering tho, plastic/foam under the stone or on top? I see it both ways and figured it's the application.
It works either way
Looks wonderful

The concrete crack off around the dowels or you could cut along the seam .
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thanks for the reply!
Good job.
Thanks!
Heck yeah another video
You are first

Sweet 👍👍
Thanks for the visit
Hey Dave, at what length do you put in an expansion joint?
I dont find a need for those in my climate
I know gravel is sometimes not needed and you always say it depends. Doing a DIY patio at home in sacramento CA, is gravel needed? Love your videos!
Probably not but I haven't seen the ground there
Clicked right away

Fiber and couring compound 👍 I just wish that brush was 50% horse hair 50% nylon lol jk great videos keep up the good work.
Maybe one day!
TY
same as using a HVLP sprayer
You know you've made it as a youtoober when you hire your first hippie to take care of all the video.

Yeah, the work isn't hard enough. Let's do it in 115 degree heat. You guys are nuts. 😀
Challenges it what makes it fun.
Plus I have some stories to tell you

Yes, fiber was used on the first original driveway. It's very common in hot dry climates.

Going “Deep & hard” is the only way to handle hardwood. 🏋🏼

No more fiberglass rebar?
Hard to source
Carry a recipricating saw for those roots.
I had one it got burned up too

If it's that thin of a residue, try muriatic acid diluted to 5 to 1 with water
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Thank yhou

how late into the year can you pour concrete?
I've been pouring year round.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete awesome thank you!

Woah 400 a yard!? Where are you at!???
@@JonnyDIY Hawaii. Its not a monopoly, but it might as well be one. We have two companies, so a 'duopoly' and price control happening.
@@doctoroctos ohh ok makes more sense now. Geez that's brutal pricing, but what are you gonna do
Wow where are you at?
That's exspensive
Would have preferred rebar instead of that wire mesh
Pink bars is a good alternative
LOL! There is no such word as decomposure. It is the name of a Canadian musician though.
But it sounds cool
you kids better walk across the street and double check with tia before u take that fridge, shes in charge this week...
You could have burned the stump out

U went all the way to arizona? I live in l a county, and you told me it was too far. What gives?
He’s said it in other videos. His dad is older and he wanted to take care of him.
Where is this in AZ!?

Thats good for you because my sons can still do your job, if you really have one?

Chairs dont work with that thin wire mesh
