    I'm not allowed to go to the Hawaiian Islands unattended, my husband said I'd try and smuggle an entire island back.
    I considered moving there at one point.
    I'd gain 300 lbs over there being a retired chef and a foodie.

    • @rebeccatomlinson9043

      It’s has to do with a lot of poaching plants- Hawaii grows a lot of beautiful “houseplants” in the wild. Or even in Waikiki they use more prized philodendron for landscaping. The botanical gardens we have are just like a walk in the jungle so people can easily poach. There are also many endemic species that are close to extinction and we want to protect those. it also is to protect pests and disease from being carried over.

  • @nickgemerek6820
    @nickgemerek6820 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    YESSS MORE ORCHIDS!!! Once you start you can't stop! lol I hope you have better luck with the psychopsis than I did. It struggled for about a year and just didn't make it. I think my area is just too damp for it. I think they really like to dry out right away. The roots would rot all the time. Couldn't just been a not so healthy one. Who knows!

    • @Patadendron
      @Patadendron  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can feel the obsession creeping in! That's exactly what the lady at Kawamoto orchids said, that they surprisingly like to be a lot more dry compared to other oncidiums! I bet you'd do great with a second chance psychopsis!

    Yay! You finally got a Psycopsis orchid 🙌💢💖I hope it flowers a lot for you Patrick🙏Don't forget orchids like a good amount of clean water to run through the pot to rid any built-up salts in the medium🥰🙏The Styrofoam does facilitate water draining from the pot, but more importantly, it provides a reservoir of air at the bottom of the pot that orchid roots can tap into.😁👌Your paphiopedilum is Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful💞💞💞I like your advertising of your Mars Grow Tent😌🙏💞 Patrick! 🥰 I'm going to have to buy one😅And I have to make up some b.s. story on how I need one to my wife.😅🤢🤥

    Styro popcorn is for added drainage, don't cut the bloom spike on a psycopsis when it blooms they rebloom.
