This has been happening for a long time. I've seen lots of videos the past few years where people are weary about the wrapping of their booster box, then get little to no hits, thinking it was just a bad box. This totally changes the trust buyers will have with sellers. Keep up the great work! =)

Thanks for the heads up because I have been thinking about getting some Eevee heroes boxes.
A more accurate description of their modus operandi is:
- They weigh all the packs and take out the "heavy ones"
- They proceed to open the heavy packs until they hit the SR
- They return the rest of the heavy packs into the pool of light packs
This is the reason why you still pull holos, Vs, and Vmax from resealed boxes

I second this. I noticed that many eBay sellers sell tons of SR SA and not even close to that amount of less rare cards. I always found it odd now I totally get it it’s so easy to weigh packs and stop opening packs once the SR is found. I don’t buy Japanese boxes tho only singles

Speaking of eevee, I went to my local Walmart tonight and found a huge stock of pokemon. I was amazed to find the flareon, vaporeon, and jolteon alt art premium collections!! I bought 2 of each. I was so psyched!! I've held off on these because of high prices online and didn't think I'd ever find in stores. Was my lucky day 😀 cracking 1 of each and keeping the other 3 sealed.

Another tip all of the batch codes should be the same. (the number printed underneath the flap of the packs.) If even one is different from the rest you have a resealed box.

I'm glad I was able to identify the scam one when you first asked for it (the giveaways: the plastic wrap popping out on the side, mostly), even though I wasn't sure. Coming from the world of kpop cards collecting, I'm not new to scams, so it's really good to know how they present themselves in the Pokémon side! I never would've know about the type of plastic the booster packs are sold in, that's great info to have! Thanks a lot for this video!!

there is a production code printed on the back of each pack. one box should have matching numbers for all packs, else its not from the same box.

They should add a single extra randomly weighted cardboard card, so when you weigh them, All of them are complete random weights due to the randomly weighted card
This is why I’m glad I bought straight from the Pokémon center in Okinawa. Unfortunately though, they unsealed my bb of vmax climax as soon as I bought it

As someone who just enjoys watching other open packs my first thought to not get scammed was to not buy the box 😂 by anyways glad to see them changing up the seals❣️

This happened with my star birth box. Was like a cellophane wrapper and one was soft. One was real and one was resealed. The hits were all holos in the resealed one.

Thanks for this video! I wish I had learned about this recently since I actually tried to open an eevee heroes box with a friend today, but instead of the "light" packs, I actually got korean eevee heroes packs inside my booster box. Trying to get a refund from the seller and get thigns sorted out.

@ 2:15 the first thing I noticed was the legit one has a small gap between the lid and the side of the box, the fake is sealed so tight that it actually looks more professional but gives it away

I bought a box off of eBay and was amazed that the vmax cards had texture and passed the light test. I ripped one it was literally a sticker on “the card”.

hmm. the problem is that the seals are pretty inconsistent from pokemon themselves. i open cases of boxes and the seals are so varied. some tight some loose. some slightly damaged. the only way to know for sure is to open some boxes and only buy from trusted sources.
the MATERIAL of the seal is noticeably different, and is pretty easy to spot if you’re looking
Damn, i honestly won't buy any of these boxes because i spent all the. Money that i had on two cardmarket grading 9.5 sylveon v japanese alt art and sylveon vmax English alt art for 230 euro total, I'm honestly super happy, i know that nobody cares lol but i just wanted to share, you got a new sub btw, i like your videos!!
These boxes are up to $300+ after Evolving Skies English set went nuts in value. So, be really careful buyers.

Oh wow! I think this may have happened to me as I purchased two Lost abyss boxes off ebay and I pulled nothing except 3 holos and a aerodactyl v normal. When I hit up the supplier, they were hesitant and didn't really communicate much so yeah :/

Probably too much effort for pokemon to bother doing, but if they just made all their cards weigh the same then that instantly solves this problem haha
just not possible to do. Full art holo cards and full textured cards are sadly always going to weigh more than your regular commons and uncommons
@@DrApplesauceTwo there are ways to do it, 1 example just add X amount thickness, which wouldn't be much at all, to the common etc cards to match the weight of the heavier ones. There would be ways that smarter people then me could come up with but yeah pokemon aren't going to do that unfortunately. No profit to them to change how they make cards which would probably end up being a more expensive way to make them etc etc. Just a shame there are nasty people out there who want scam others. But still, nice work on the video and giving us viewers some more info on this type of stuff and helping us. This is a great channel 👍

no. the eh vmax box are notorious for scams as people can also take out the packs(weight and replace them) from the sealed plastic cover that can slide since its only attached by a tape... So those are one will be the first to avoid.

So I just opened a box yesterday and got like 12 hits, but no secret or alt art. Is it possible to get 0 secret rares?
Yes. Some of the scammers open packs until they hit the SR then combine, reseal, and sell booster boxes. The VS a VMAXS have little value (the sealed pack is more valuable than a VMAX/V) so they don't care about them.

You got a tampered box… guaranteed SR or higher in every booster box. I have heard of broken batch boxes where they have pulled multiple SR+ cards in the same box. Hence the term “God Box”… very rare that you’ll get one of those boxes before someone in Japan does.

I always thought Japanese people would never scam people but I guess I was wrong. Scaming others is part of being human I guess.
You know, you would think with those boxes have guaranteed certain hits per box, that at least 9 out of 10 boxes sold the customer is going to complain andeabe bad reviews etc. You would think the cute little scam would unravel very quickly for the scammer

That's horrible. Also , english modern isn't always resealed BUT my English modern hits are just like this lol. Like I have opened up legit boosterboxes and many other products and either get nothing or maybe a v like how you had a v on this one and a vmax. I'm probably going to switch to Japanese
Unlike English, Japanese is ALWAYS very consistently seeded. That’s why this is definitely resealed.

Definitely switch to japanese especially for modern, cheaper boxes, better pulls, value doesn't crash as much despite better pulls in most cases
