- SCP 542 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as Herr Chirurg.
SCP-542 has been described as a "Frankenstein's Monster" in appearance.
SCP542 claims that it has been, at one time, a typical human of Caucasian descent, identifying as German in nationality.
He claims to have been 'dreadfully normal' before World War I started, and claims to have worked for the Nazi party, even if he found their goals 'boringly simple.'

@@kyleyoung5063 Can't really say for sure. I just typed out "mad" and "insane" in that order, so that's how I set "latter" and "former," since "insane" was the latter of the two and "mad" the former.

Out of all SCPs, Herr Chirurg is my favorite. He's basically the most terrifying of human SCPs due to his intellect, charm, and drive to kill to stay alive. Its not simply about his obvious abnormally modified body. Sometimes the most terrifying monsters are ones who have been monsters long before they were anomalies...
I'd say my favorite is SCP-423
Funny thing is that we use the word "chirurg" verbatim in Polish as we seem to have "borrowed" a few German words here and there :D
Altough many words have been borrowed into polish from german (e.g. cegła; burmistrz; kac; rycerz) it's coincidence that the polish word „chirurg” has the same form as german one, both of them are borrowings from latin (there is possibility that the german word influenced polish one to be „chirurg” and not „chirurgus”, tho it isn't necessary a case)

Still asking for a video on SCP-370! Whenever I think of the Foundation, before I think of 682, the Shy Guy, or any of the 001s, 370 is the thing that exemplifies the Foundation to me.
It's unknowable, insidious, and the effects of has on people is incredibly disturbing. You really can't go wrong with it!

This guy sounds like he's make a great type of devil in D&D. A like a devil, he's totally lawful evil, enjoys tormenting others, and enjoys tricking others into thinking they need him in spite of the costs. Proving to be very useful, but very costly. Is having access to the shortcuts he can provide worth your soul, or your life, or those of others? No. But he won't let you know that.

I'd ask what a conversation between him and the plague doctor would be like, but the sheer horror of that combination should be avoided at all costs.

Boring in my definition, means lacking the power to provoke any other emotion. I guess being bored by unethical experiments on humans is better than enjoying it, but it still shows a great lack of empathy. Imagine if this SCP showed up to your wedding while cousin Johnny was there. Complete and utter madness would await.

While the "patchwork" reanimated corpse Frankenstein's monster has been popularized by the films, the novel doesn't actually suggest that-Frankenstein sets out to create an entirely new organism, proportionally large because of the difficulty of working with the minute parts. There's no mention of scars or patchwork, only that once animated the overall appearance (intended to beautiful) is horrifying. There's also nothing of the kind in the early drawings of the character.
Fun fact:
Chirurg means 'surgeon' or 'butcher' in Slovak (and also Polish I believe)
The word is originally Greek and Latin, and was borrowed into French as "surgeon", so it's all connected! I didn't know it was in the slavic languages too though, that's cool
