And, gentlemen, I have enjoyed it too. This must be one of the most philosophically insightful and gentle conversations ever had between two scientists.
I bought Wagner and Briggs' fantastic book 'The Penultimate Curiosity' about 5-6 years ago. I think that book was my first introduction to Greek philosophy - and to much else besides. A great read.
I don't have to opportunity to mix socially with intelligent humans, as these two. I therefore enjoy listening to them on YT. To some extent in restores my faith in humans as a species, although there is so much chaff amongst the wheat, would that it were not so.
I'd like to think "Matter" is (a particular form of) GOD's thinking, Slowed down. Enough to allow other more fluid and Local forms of thought to PLAY out in this Arena. And will eventually disolve like everyting else (Entropy). Something like Bernado Kasrup's "Analytic Idealism". Hey, I got nothing to sell anyone... I just lke to think this. I'm a dishwasher. ;>
@@moons_mind Well I'll give it a go. We often say "My thoughts began to crystallize". I like that. And as McG would argue, matter itself might be merely just a stage of "conciousness". Like Water. Water can be Ice, Liquid and Gass. All totally diffent from each other but all Water. So in order for GOD to slow down being "Everything" and to experience and consider itself, maybe the arena we find ourselves in right now is just that. Personally speaking I think there is nothing but GOD. Panentheism. But agian I have nothing to sell. Humbly thinking about it on the grandest scale. I'm happy using the word GOD because its the biggest word we have. And giving it its name makes all the difference for me.

Without material, there wouldn't be the universe nor any such conversations. 😅
