Superb kit. I immediately recognized it from W&W from the thumbnail. Such great fellas. Was just up there last weekend and picked up a set of vintage Agop Mel Lewis hats.
I really love concert kits for small ensemble modern classical. I always find a lot of textures and tones out of each drum. I play a bop kit now, which is nice, but would love to own a professional concert kit.
What's funny is I have a Ludwig octoplus set and they still were made in USA.. USA rockers.... still play on them... bought it in chicago biasco music store from the Steve Dahl band teenage radiation.. is what I was told in 1979
Nice!! I think they used to call those big single headed drums with the legs on them “Tymp Toms”. I have got a set of the non-tymp tom version in 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, & 16. Eventually looking to add the matching bass drum. They record incredibly well!!
Nice and warm and fat. I believe that "E" in the bass drum shell stood for "Education" followed by a catalogue number of that particular school, but I don't not a serial number..
These drum sets were very popular back in the 70s when I started drumming. It seemed like everybody was playing single headed toms. And they were used on a LOT of recordings at the time.
The drums sound really nice, and your playing is sublime, very smooth, and quiet, kind of a mix of jazz and rock. I made a concert tom set, i took the bottom lugs off some toms, and glued pieces of wood dowels into the holes, also had to paint some of the drums to make them match, they're all black. I got lots of toms, 6,8,10,12,14, and 16,18 inch floortoms, and I put all new remo cs black dots on them all for that cool nostalgic look. I'm a pretty good drummer, but I don't know anything about how to record or make videos on a computer, I need to learn that, so far all my videos were recorded on my cell phone, and they sound like sh*t !

Thanks for the demo man 👍
They look awesome, and sound amazing, I love that 70s style
Really cool set!
Sounds wonderful.
I was wondering who wound up buying this drum set. Glad you're giving it a good home!
Couldn’t resist it! I’m trying to have as many sets as you 😂
@@JH_Drums Fair! hahaha
Beautiful kit.
Thanks! It's fun to play.

Sounds like an awesome set! Thanks for watching
Try mics under the Tom's for a better sound.
I'd add a crash and another ride, but wow, those sound great! The snare fits perfectly with the rest of the kit. And nice Ringo-ing around at 8:28.
Thanks!
Nice, I'm a bassist but appreciate good drumming and quality drum kits... it matters.
Man that drum set sounds great! Would love to have a brass Supraphonic!
Cool kit!
Try placing the mics up inside the drums, about 2 inches in.
Yes
I need more mic stands 😅
This gives me an idea to double mic every thing under and over with polarity reverse for proper coherence. Awesome sounds by the way.
Really cool-looking kit. I'm kinda over my vistalites sound and I've been looking at stuff.
I've always wanted a vistalite. Thanks for watching!
@@JH_Drums Funny enough I’m selling Vistalite concert toms on Reverb
@@aZeddPrattFilm Time to window-shop on reverb again lol
Now do that with MD421's underneath so we can have a proper mic battle. They sound great though
Lol I wish!

Fantastic sounding kit! What heads are you using?
Toms - coated ambassador
Kick - coated powerstroke 3
How much are the Silver Sparkle Club Date Marching Drums bringing these days?
Not sure! Got mine from a friend for a reasonable price a few years back.
Do you find it harder/less satisfying to play bass drum without the resonant head?
It’s a little different for sure but it doesn’t bother me!
Did you place legs on tbe floor toms?
Looks like the legs are original or they were installed by a previous owner!

And you're not telling us what kind of wood the the drums are made out of because ? ? ? 🐝🐝🐝
🤫
B(luddy) hell!*, I just love those natural wood Ludwig drums. Would anyone like to donate a set to me for free.
* Did you see what I did there?
Get the Stainless steel, man.
Supraphonic, not Superphonic.
That’s what I said 💀
