Until you go over to your enemies base and start giving them algae from their dead units. They can get poisoned and run back to their base to do it lol
I found out about it about a month ago and it took me nearly a whole week to figure it out: the units are white because they're on Aquarion terrain, and the normal/regular turquoise colour would blend in with the Aquarion terrain too much and you wouldn't be able to tell if the unit can move or not, so they just made it white instead. Fair enough I must say

Segments only explode if they're behind the one that was manually detonated. For example, of a centipede has 3 segments and the middle one was detonated, only the tail would chain explode
I think that for land battles, the Cymanti are absolutely god-tier, able to essentially spam Doomux and blow up anything in their way. Their biggest weak point in my eyes, however, is their Navy. If you can't take an enemy's coastals with Ryachii or the Phychi, you've essentially gone into a standstill if Algae can't get you where you want to go- and against Battleships, it's hard to see the Cymanti being able to handle those fights easily. That being said, they're the one civ where you DON'T want their giants on Algae as it messes up troop movements and completely tanks their efficiency as you want to get a segment next to an opponent on your movement, blow it up, THEN attack with your giant if you have a segment available.

Not entirely sure if you know this but I found this out about the poison effect. If a unit dies with poison on a tile that has no buildings on it on land, it makes spores. If a unit dies with poison on a water tile without a port, it makes an algae. Same thing goes with exploding units, land explosions make spores, water explosions make algae. This whole idea is what makes the archers decent. Also a poisoned unit cant get a defense boost from fortify and city walls.

@@latviankvas Ok, so the battleships are ranged, which means that they can engaged the fish bugs without being counter attacked. Battleships also have the "scout" skill, which means that their vision is further. With this, you can go up to the edge of the cymanti and fire away. Another large part of cymanti early game is their shaman, which is powerful, but vulnerable. They can't attack and move in the same turn, which means that riders can jump in and out of their very quickly, killing the only shaman until they get a tier 3 tech. The fly bugs don't have a lot of actual attack power or health, they are utility with their poison. Which means that they are open to being killed easily by warriors or riders. The hexapod bugs are fast, strong, and can run away. But have only 5 health. a warrior should be able to one shot them. Mid and late game counters are battleships, which are powerful, fast, and long range. Making them ideal to just sit right outside the algae. And mind benders heal the poison away, arguably nullifying the most powerful part of the cymanti. As and added bonus, attacking any one part of the centipede with the mind bender changes the entire centipede to your team, and due to how the game works, the centipede tail will be in a prime position to explode backwards into the cymanti line, which will kill most troops because they are mostly low health. If you can kill the ray bugs before they get into position with the algae, then the cymanti will not be able to expand. Finally, if you can buy them (I know you might not be able to), you will improve a lot against them. You will find the hard prats to play as cymanti and play those parts when fighting against them.

Cymanti is pretty cool, but it's not good enough to be on spot one for me. Moving on water just takes very long, since you may not reach other islands with algae, sometimes you just need Phychis or Raychis to get to another tribe. Only problem is: Phychis kinda suck, their health is low and they can only poison without really doing any base damage. On land however, they might be the strongest tribe so far, since Doomux and Centipedes etc. can be very helpful with their explosion techniques and building Clathrus/fungi around your cities might also be a very good defense maneuver.
Hey Gullyy, idk if you still accept challenges, but what do you think about playing as Cymanti but you cannot use insects as units, only the human ones. I recommend on using shaman a lot.
