You're alive, it was a good landing! Well done for walking away, everyone with foresight can comment at what they would have done, the reality is they weren't there and given the same thing they would have probably had the same outcome if not worse. You controlled the landing and dropped her down with out injury (other than your pride)
Glad you made it down okay. Sorry to see TA-1 so beat up, but at least it's not totaled. Will be interested in what caused the engine failure. It's always a good learning tool to find the root cause which will help others.
Hell Terry that was bad luck. Good to see you are OK, but it's going to be a bit expensive. New prop and all that. I hope you are in the air again soon.
4:11 I watched the landing in 0.25 speed, and it looks like you pushed the stick forward just before the plane hits the ground. That being said, it didn't hit hard enough to be a problem for a well designed landing gear. It just crumbled without any resistance.
Accidents happen. You are alive and a much more experienced pilot now. Bet you never fly it into the ground like that again, lol. Hope you get it back in the air again soon.
You will be back in the air in no time. Great result and disregard the Monday morning quarterbacks, they weren’t there. Good to figure the gear weak points. A little more strength there and possibly more energy absorption capability and there would have been no damage.
You made in one piece and walked away.. That’s a good landing!!! ADP, you analyzed it, made the decision and landed without injury to yourself, public and property. We can armchair quarterbacks till the stars burn out.
I would think carb ice would have given prior warning rough running slower rpm etc. In the video it appeared to just go from running well to dead, if that’s the case I would suspect fuel starvation, trash, air bubble in fuel system etc. Have you done a fuel flow test?
Good job. You know what they say about landings! Got a question because I know nothing about these little planes, but am interested in getting one day. Do they typically need throttle added for landing? Just a curiosity question is all.

I'm glad you are alright!! Keep your chin up. It could have been worse!
That's right fly it, fly it all the way to the seen of the crash. You did great.
Just glad you're OK. 🙂👍
Time and money is better than orthapaedics - glad you're good bro!
Amazing thing to watch. You kept your head in it. Glad your ok! You built the plane once, so you can build it again.

So glad to see you are ok. The landing gear on the A plane seems to be a weak point. You will be back up in no time.

Wow, you could have flared a little there, lol.. Glad your ok, looks like the plane took it pretty good.
he had no speed to flare, his stall is 30 mph 2 over the max allowed
Glad you are Ok! One four letter word summed that whole experience up quite nicely.
Glad to see you are ok
How much safer would ultralights be if they allowed them to be heavier? Sad to see the aluminum buckle like that.

Really sorry to see this. It's obvious that plane is your baby. Hope to see you back in the air soon.
So glad you walked away from the hard landing. It says a lot about the safety of the design.
Sad to see the tragedy but happy to you are safe.
thank god your are safe❤

DONT FORGET TO PUT FLAPS IN THIS AIRCRAFT
That was a perfectly good glider.
The gear collapse saved everything!!
What Engine was installed? I received my plans for the build and looking at engine.
Still working on it?
That wasn’t a bad landing, it was a damn GOOD landing. Engine out, kept control, calm and walked away. I call that a Big Win. Good Bless!!!
@@devildogkilo you received the affordaplane plans, have you built the plane?
I'm happy to see you made it to the ground safely! I hope TA-1 is patched up and flying again soon.

Glad to know you are right!
Sorry you had a prang but delighted that you made it out in one piece!
glad u are okay
Yow you walked away ...nothing else matters...praise Jesus..
Bravo 📽️😱🔨 Респект 👍😎🔥
I was wondering was it the grass that caused it to land hard or did it stall and drop hard?
Its not if you will get engine out. It is when... your training saved you
Outstanding flying Terry. I know that's not what ya want to hear - but you did great.
mate glad you are ok shit happens you sounded very aussie straight after the landing
Sorry for your loss, atleast you are safe, you will have it up and flying in no time.

YES IT IS BETTER
What engine is that ?
Hirth 2704
theres barely any chassis to this thing
