Well Rain was recorded and released near the end of their touring days. If they hadn't stopped touring in August of '66 I'm sure they would've performed Rain.
After all Rain was simply guitars, bass and drums, no super psychedelic instrumentation or anything like their later stuff. Rain is not hard to perform live.
I see in some of the comments you've noticed this group even gets the Beatle tone down..... well, that's because they not only use authentic, period correct REAL instruments or authentic reproductions (as opposed to replicas), but they also use the same strings on the guitars the Beatles used. They have as many nuances and details down as a tribute band can.
I have seen this band many times in Cleveland and Akron Ohio. They played the Cleveland Playhouse and Akron's Tangiers countless times. I am a Beatles snob, who pays close attention to the sound and instruments and amplifiers and sound of anyone who plays a Beatles classic live, and these guys were the BEST Beatles cover band. Period. And I've seen a few. They replicated the 1963-66 Beatles PERFECTLY while playing for real, with no overdubs or augmentations. When Gary (Paul) passed it was a sad day for all of of us who've followed 1964 TT for the last 20+ years and we still miss him. He was genuinely a great guy in real life, I had the pleasure of talking to him after a show after everything calmed down and he was just the nicest guy.
those were both great renditions, but really impressed me was their really good imitation of the backwards vocals at the end of rain. the band while they looked tired as all get out, still did a believable job of being The Beatles!
I saw these gents @ Carniege Hall back in "07. Not only did I get my money's worth. But they convinced me that they're the best Beatles tribute around.
alonenjersey The Fab Four WAY outshines this band!!! I’ve seen them 8 (yes, 8) times and I’ll gladly go another 8 times!!! This can easily be seen if you take the time to compare the two bands’ videos. Especially since they now have Adam Hastings as John Lennon (though Ron McNeil was good too, I still prefer Adam); Gavin Pring, the ONLY George Harrison tribute artist that actually LOOKS AND SOUNDS like the real George; Ardy Sarraf, who, though not a dead ringer for McCartney, sounds and in particular acts more like the real Macca than almost anybody; and Joe Bologna, who, with the sole exception of Erik Fidel (who BTW was IN the FF), does Ringo as well as anybody else you can find currently. It is not rude but it’s the reality that, though they’ve had a good career, 1964 The Tribute has seen its better days. I believe that if they hang up the boots and suits, and act more appropriately for their age, they could still have a career playing Beatles music. I know that there will be some that quite vehemently will disagree; but I maintain that there still has to be a certain amount of reality in these performances. The fact that the Fab Four, as just one example, replaced RonMcNeil with the younger Adam Hastings, shows that they are cognizant of what it takes to be a realistic Beatles tribute band. And I have no doubt that, when the time comes when he can no more realistically portray the young McCartney, Ardy Sarraf will step aside, too.

Their group does a nice job, but "1964 The Tribute" replicates the original Beatles performances with much greater nuance and musical comprehension IMHO. My favorite Beatles' tribute is Yesterday. I've seen them live once, and I'm planning to see them again in a month. They're truly an AMAZING Beatles' tribute.

(I.e., "Frère Jacques" on Paperback Writer": note how close "John" is to the mic while "George" is a mile away; the dense harmonies on "Rain."). Playing these tunes live is ridiculously challenging. The band I worked with in the 1980s rehearsed "Paperback Writer" but it never made it out of the basement. (They were VERY good, but not quite good enough to pull it off in public.)
I have seen this band probably 20 times in the last 20 years, started following them in 1999. As a Beatles snob I can tell you 1964 is the best of ALL the Beatles cover bands..... and I can also verify with complete certainty they do not nor have they ever used backing tracks. Everything is 100% live. They don't even have a machine in their equipment that can run tracks. It's all live.

they have mastered thier act to perfection . the tone they generate from the guitars matches the beatle tone very closely. with the addition of Graham Alexander who is playing Paul now this band definitely sounds much closer to Beatles then any other I have heard. they capture the beatle music upto the revolver era and generate a lot of excitment in the crowd wherever they play and have a lot of repeat value

Awesome performance, truly. Vocals, harmonies, spot on. Very impressive. Only suggestion is to excuse extended band from sitting side stage while going through the mop top phase of music. The gray bearded gentleman sitting with the bored expression on his face is purely distracting. No need to be there most of the time.
I suggest looking in to "Rain, a tribute to the Beatles". They have a right handed Paul for THIS tour, but he does a great job, and sounds just like Paul McCartney.

That's a big call! I'd put in there Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane, Hey Jude/Revolution & Get Back/Don't Let Me Down as contenders!
The Bass and drums are what do it for me. I hate hey jude and get back. imo some of the most annoying tracks. I'm not a complete beatles fan though.
