    While installing, make sure you TIGHTEN that little pod arm a bit before trying to pair... my was very loose and red sensor light (for speed) didn't show, only green for cadence. Hope that helps someone!

    Does it also measure the power outcome?

    Hey guys at 1.05 seconds in it tells us to measure the circumference of the bike tire, but where do i input this into the watch so i can accurately understand distance?

    • @Al9Capone
      @Al9Capone 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Distance is recorded by the gps function of the watch (outdoors bikes).
      No need to input wheel circumference. In any case the gearing affects the result.
      On a spin bike gps doesn't apply. I use the formula; Distance in km = {time in mins x average rpm x 4.65} / 1000
      time is the exercise duration
      ave rpm is the cadence
      4.65 metres is the distance the wheel on my spin bike moves past a fixed point with one revolution of the cycle crank arm.
      The exercise duration and cadence are recorded on the watch and can be seen in Movescount.

    Hi all. My bike sensor suddenly stopped showing data about cadence and speed on my watches (Suunto Spartan). I can see that sensor works as green and red lights flash when I drive + watches connect to sensor easily. Have been using sensor it for 4 years and yesterday it just stopped transmitting data to watches. What could be the problem? Thank you.

    How can you fit this to a spin bike? There is no horizontal frame bar, (as shown in the video at 57 secs), to attach the main sensor. There is only only a solid 4-6 inch deep flat section of the spin bike frame. (I have an Ambit3 watch and spin bike). There isn't a rear wheel so this product is not useable on a spin bike.

      There's actually a few different sensors offered by Suunto. The one displayed here I believe is their do everything one since it catches all the relevant metrics. You can get the one for cadence only, which might be mire interesting for you on a stationary bike.

    • @Al9Capone
      @Al9Capone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's the cadence function that I'm interested to record. I'l look into that. Thanks.

      Suunto produce just one bike sensor. I just scanned their product range. If you know differently, please give me a link to the product. Many thanks.

    Is 4mm the minimum or maximum distance between the sensor and base? My crank to chain stay gap seems like it will be more than 4mm

    • @Al9Capone
      @Al9Capone 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is quite a bit of leeway either side of 4 mm. If the red and green light flash you know you are OK. But the red and green light only flash several times after the unit is activated. S you need to be quick to observe.

    Does it only blink after the initial turning on?
    My sensor doesn't seem to be working. It blinked red and green a few times, but then it doesn't any more. I've switched out the battery but any additional information would be good.

      I have exactly same issue. Sensor does not connect to my Suunto Spartan watch. How did you resolve it?

    • @KuyaOly
      @KuyaOly 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just installed mine. It had the same result, even replaced the battery because I thought it would constantly blink red and green. But it successfully synced to my Suunto Spartan easily without blinking LEDs.

      Same for me! It took me hours to work out what was happening. I spent half a day on this. After installing you must pair it with a watch. Then everything starts to work. There is no indication in the booklet or setup video that the next stage to use the device is Pairing. There is a separate video on Pairing, but if you didn't know it existed you would never find it. Suunto get your act together. Your customers need proper instructions on setting this device up from start to finish. I thought initially, that I had a duff battery,, because the lights blinked and then stopped blinking after a couple of seconds. Then I checked the battery with a meter, and tried another battery. After much head scratching, I discovered a Suunto video on pairing this device. Then, after pairing, it worked. The Quick Guide that comes with the device is pathetic.

      @@Al9Capone I'm having same problems. Can you provide link to the video you mentioned? Does it have to pair with a watch, or can it be paired with the Suunto app?

    This video really sucks it doesn’t explain fully and in detail the installation process, first what was the part installed on the bike crank no explanation on that and what was or is it’s purpose, secondly why wouldn’t there be any voice instead of just music. Really not helpful at all how does the unit turn on and turn off if that is possible there’s just no explanation at all.

      You should probably go learn a bit more about bike sensors in general.
