Not all of that can be attributed to the material and design of the house itself. A lot of it is the abundance of appliances (A/C, dishwasher, dryer etc.) and electronics (larger TVs, more powerful computers, home automation etc.). Another big factor is the waste of energy tending to lawns and other landscaping. Then there's also the fact that a lot of the critical appliances like central HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), water heaters, fridges, washing machines etc. tend to be older and less efficient compared to those found in India. There are ways to reduce the energy consumption of a home by installing better insulation (to reduce heating and cooling costs) and taking better advantage of sunlight, see Undecided with Matt Farrell's video on the topic. I live here in US for over 8 years and owns a house. I must say you are very close with your details abt western houses, good research and yes all houses looks like copy paste 😃🤣
I've lived in America for 8 years and personally I don't like wooden houses and sloped roofs here. I prefer concrete houses with flat roof top terrace. Concrete finishing is superior to wood. In American homes you can hear every thing from other rooms. Also the look and feel is flimsy. 95% houses don't have a terrace or balcony. They have backyard but I rather prefer terrace. They are also copy paste. Just like flats in india. The icky good thing is that they have centralized AC and hot cold water through out the house.
Tho I think cement house are more secure than wooden, cuz if flood or any disaster comes cement house has high potential to hold, and the chance of fire catching is also more in wood, tho they use some kinda foil but it's not that efficient as cement or concrete is.
Not how it works, only the framing is done out of the wood, basement is made fully out of cement, and the outside layer where we install windows are made of bricks too. The framing is done by wood, then we use spray foam now a days to fill in between framing to not allow cold to get in the house, and then use dry walls which are thin sheet of paper kinda thing and use that as a wall for the inside.
We here in Himachal have more than 300 years old wooden traditional houses still where people live. The wooden houses may require a lot of wood but they are sustainable and eco friendly for the climate here. Yet many people nowadays chose cement because it's cheap. Nowadays many of those old houses are getting burnt too because the wood catches fire easily and people are irresponsible.
In India , things are improving every decade. Now, people design a house properly with the help of an architect. However, yet the civil engineer is never hired to help build. Hopefully , in next decade trend will change and there would be substantial improvement in civil engineering works.

You threw shade at the Americans by making a false accusation of their environmental policies. The US is very strict, and logging is carefully controlled. You were lying when you said that anybody can get a license and log. You can log in certain areas and at a certain rate and there is tremendous re-planting. The US has millions of acres of trees both on mountains and in the plains. Their land is very well cared for. Go and take a look and then report the truth. Oh, there is no illegal sand mining in their rivers nor illegal cutting of trees..
