    Great video, but ya'll are killing me ! LOL! I had a 1986 QuadRacer back in the day(early 90s) that got stolen and was never found... Loved that machine! I really got the itch for another one late in life! Keep the great videos of you, Jack and the vintage machines coming!!!

    Good runs, and those were with smaller rear tires than oem 21”, so there’s a few mph lost as well, I think they are rated at 74mph stock

      Ok good to know. I didn't think about tires.

      Nope. Those are stock Dunlops that the '88 model would have come with. Other than being worn down a tad, they are the stock size.

    I had one in 1988 1987 version. I was 17 years old we could ride on the public roads back then. No i never had helmet on. I occasionally wore helmet when in woods or trail riding. Yeah I know it prob was bad idea and I'd say for most things always wear a helmet unless maybe putting around in back yard.

    Your clutch is slipping a tad at the top RPM of every gear. Definitely have some more MPH in that if that's fixed and it's geared a little bit taller.

    Should be wearing a helmet at all times, even warm up as accidents usually happen when you least expect it and it’s too late. I had the 85 when it first came out in 85. It was awesome at that time as there was nothing out there like it at the time.

    I suggest you scrap the goofy drilled holes and go with an open air intake aftermarket on the carb. When you do that you up the jet size and you will notice a huge response difference. Then you need to change your sprocket sizes. I will let you figure out what works best for you on that. I have a 1990 lt250r with the exhaust ports on it and the thing screams. I do need to replace the rear shock for sure but the bike is solid as hell and runs like a champ at about 75 mph all day long.. And ditch that horrible stock muffler ...

    • @TheMapleDude1
      @TheMapleDude1  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand what you are saying but also the machine is nearly all stock... worth more that way.

    • @bcxaz
      @bcxaz 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheMapleDude1 lol then why are you riding it and drilling holes? Changing the sprockets and upgrading to an oem based intake will do less to your depreciation then drilling holes in anything on the quad. And u will actually enjoy it. No one is paying you a fortune for that quad dude ever trust me. You should use it as intended but put down the drill and step away slowly! Lol

    • @TheMapleDude1
      @TheMapleDude1  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bcxaz my guy... I didn't drill the holes... they were already there. I never said I was going to be paid a "fortune" for it. I'm not selling it anytime soon. But the fact is it's worth more this was stock. And you can't find many in this condition. You can do what you want with yours and I'll do my thing.
