Great video, but ya'll are killing me ! LOL! I had a 1986 QuadRacer back in the day(early 90s) that got stolen and was never found... Loved that machine! I really got the itch for another one late in life! Keep the great videos of you, Jack and the vintage machines coming!!!
Thanks man I hear you. We are kind of addicted to this.
Good runs, and those were with smaller rear tires than oem 21”, so there’s a few mph lost as well, I think they are rated at 74mph stock
Ok good to know. I didn't think about tires.
Nope. Those are stock Dunlops that the '88 model would have come with. Other than being worn down a tad, they are the stock size.
@@patrickjaegers3110 You are right. My 87 had them when it was new also.
Very nice rides guys I loved my quad racer back in the day
Thanks norm! We love em!
Temp gauge is a very good mod to do, did the same thing with my trx250r.
Yeah it's a nice add on.
@relese_thebeast72 look on ebay
man this reminds me so much of beatin on my dt175 on n mich back roads as a teenager. Love ya'lls vids and sub'd, howdy from se ky.
Hi Bill, thanks!
Clean machine nice they get a bad rap because everyone wanted it’s big brother
I agree you can still pick these up somewhat reasonably priced.
I had the 86. Great bike.
Yes awesome machines!
88 good year quad is the same age as me awesome find
Thanks man appreciate you watching.
I had one in 1988 1987 version. I was 17 years old we could ride on the public roads back then. No i never had helmet on. I occasionally wore helmet when in woods or trail riding. Yeah I know it prob was bad idea and I'd say for most things always wear a helmet unless maybe putting around in back yard.
I agree with you... wear a helmet! Great memories these machines are!
Your clutch is slipping a tad at the top RPM of every gear. Definitely have some more MPH in that if that's fixed and it's geared a little bit taller.
I didn't notice but you may be right.
I have owned 5 of these and with a swapped carb, airbox del, and muffler they open up to 88mph easily
My friend had one years ago. That thing would fly.
Thanks for watching!
great engine sound😊
Brappp
Should be wearing a helmet at all times, even warm up as accidents usually happen when you least expect it and it’s too late. I had the 85 when it first came out in 85. It was awesome at that time as there was nothing out there like it at the time.
It was the first sport 4 wheeler.
On the stocks you feel more power . I have big tires in the rear
These are smaller yes.
Jack why you wearing shorts?
I wonder the same thing.
For those of those who have never ridden one or a banshee. Almost 70mph is flying on a 4 wheeler.
It feels like 100! You're right!
Try it on a mini bike, talk about a rush.
NICE
Yes sir!
I suggest you scrap the goofy drilled holes and go with an open air intake aftermarket on the carb. When you do that you up the jet size and you will notice a huge response difference. Then you need to change your sprocket sizes. I will let you figure out what works best for you on that. I have a 1990 lt250r with the exhaust ports on it and the thing screams. I do need to replace the rear shock for sure but the bike is solid as hell and runs like a champ at about 75 mph all day long.. And ditch that horrible stock muffler ...
I understand what you are saying but also the machine is nearly all stock... worth more that way.
@@TheMapleDude1 lol then why are you riding it and drilling holes? Changing the sprockets and upgrading to an oem based intake will do less to your depreciation then drilling holes in anything on the quad. And u will actually enjoy it. No one is paying you a fortune for that quad dude ever trust me. You should use it as intended but put down the drill and step away slowly! Lol
@bcxaz my guy... I didn't drill the holes... they were already there. I never said I was going to be paid a "fortune" for it. I'm not selling it anytime soon. But the fact is it's worth more this was stock. And you can't find many in this condition. You can do what you want with yours and I'll do my thing.
You should have used oem tired and a 87 model since they where faster
Hard to find 35 year old tires.
How many times will it go fast before it blows up...
Only time will tell.
She needs to be cleared up . My 91 doesn’t have that mean big to it .
?
@@TheMapleDude1 yeah ur carb. It’s bogging to much . My 91 doesn’t sound like that an it’s original
@@a.boss.__09 right that's why we opened up the air box in the video.
@@TheMapleDude1 I have the air box on mine an everything. Doesn’t sounds like that one
68 is plenty face. If ur ripping threw trails u will never usually ever be going that fast
No doubt.
Where is the kids6 helmet😒😒
Watch the other videos. But yeah this wasn't on.
I really like these old machines. But Jack can't drive good.
That’s not very nice 😂
Brutal.
Son needs to learn how to ride a quad. And how to shift. He's shifting waaay to early 😑
Bro relax.
Bro let go of the gas😭😭 it ain’t a 4 stroke
really???
