One of the most enjoyable warm hearted series to come on the BBC for many a year.
Stunningly beautiful scenery, infectious comedy, just a treat to watch.
What else can one say ? but Away.

@@Greeny22 He's had heart problems for some years (as has Paul, which is the premise of this show) & recently said he's not well & was in hospital. He's had pretty bad luck with health, apparently he got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in his 20s. Hopefully whatever he's dealing with is sorted quickly

I just listened to Bob’s autobiography and he talked about how much of a good friend Paul was when he was recovering from his surgery and motivated him to get out his rut. If you haven’t read or listened to the audiobook, I highly recommend it!

I fell down a you tube rabbit hole and got on Bob and Paul and am now many clips later and will watch the full shows. All down to a you tube rabbit hole! Lol

Gently brilliant, lost my own dad around the time Paul shared his loss with us, helped no end bought back ace dad n lad fishing trip memories. Plenty mileage in this yet, keep going boys x

@@MrHolmgren194 I read he was admitted to hospital after recording an episode of the program. He said he was not feeling healthy that was what was reported he had said

Brilliant show, more about their relationship than fishing tbh, but as a fisherman it is a fantastic breath of fresh air. Nothing set up like most reality shows these days, just natural off the cuff humour that is actually funny. Keep it up lads, stay well, look after each other

I love this, these two are a few years older than me, 'The Fast Show' and 'Reeves and Mortimer' were the stuff of my youth. Their type of comedy was new, fresh and very different back then.
It warms my heart that as men in their 60's they're still full of fun and creativity and still very daft. 😀
I find them therapeutic. Champions, both.
I watch the many series every night , repeatedly. I love them and Gone Fishing. They give me happiness.

When I see these two legends I think 'BRILLIANT' and 'oh I've fallen' (great when a comedy bit turns out to be based on a real lack of general coordination)

Simply not true. I missed it, never watched an episode, and I know several other people who haven't watched it. Just because you like it doesn't mean everyone has to.

Gone fishing has wonderful mixture of funny jokes great scenery and also some poignant moments as well
The gone fishing book is excellent as is Bob's autobiography and away
