Curse Of The Moon 2 OST: The Demon's Crown

  • Where do i even begin?
    Demon's crown is merciless. I mean..it'd have to be to be the final stage of episode 1. Demon's crown features a gimmick much like the final stage in the original game where bats chased you around.
    Here the bats return in the form of the bat ball, it mercilessly, ruthlessly pursues you and does a fair amount of damage if it so much as touches you.
    the UPSIDE is you can hit it right back, it won't hurt it, but it will push it away to buy you time.
    There are a few areas where the smartest decision is to use hachi to get you through, but there are a lot of areas where that simply isn't an option due to running low on subweapon flasks, as a result, some areas you absolutely must take slow, balancing between using robert to push the bat ball away, and zangetsu or hachi to proceed and get past enemies.
    I cannot stress enough just how stressful this level can get, there's a point where the bat ball starts chasing you up some stairs, sorta like how the bats did in the first game. except there are also fireball spitting statues on all sides, so you have to focus on slowly damaging the statues while using hachi's stomp to keep the bat ball at bay.
    and then, to top it all off, you have the final boss of the episode and the current lord of the castle. Dealing with his first form largely depends on how much hp hachi has, and if you're smart, you'll notice the secret area replete with free health and subweapons.
    above all else save subweapon for when you absolutely need hachi's invuln for phase 1, if you have the option, just don't use it.
    Phase 2 is the reason you need robert equipped with the scarf and as much subweapon flask as you can hold onto. go to the left, use hachi to invuln through the first bat beam, then activate robert's scarf mode and unload everything on the boss. No mercy, just go ham. if you did enough damage he'll move to scythe mode and from there dominique can do the rest.
    If at all possible, make getting to the shortcuts your top priority, above all else preserve subweapon flasks and save them for the chandelier areas. you don't have much, and you'll need hachi's invuln here.

      These games basically look like 16 bit but with NES palette. It has really cool parallax scrolling, highly detailed backgrounds, some gorgeous sprites. But with keeping the NES palette limitations in mind. These mix together so well! Same is true about Shovel Knight, but I definitely prefer CotM's art style.

      I also found the first game's ost more memorable. Almost everything there felt more like... mayhaps felt more like how a classy castlevania would've sounded like. In this game I didn't feel the same joy as in the first one. But this song washes away some of its sins.

      Same, they have taken the essence of the 8-bit era and improved so much on it. CotM 2 doesn't just feel like more of the first game, they improved so much on it. I think they can leave off the 8-bit era here knowing they had such a phenomenal conclusion to end it on. But if they did take it further, imagine all of these great characters in 16-bit glory! And imagine that sound track

      @Sami This game already made it clear that there's literally no continuity inbetween CotM1 and CotM2 (or that CotM2 follows after a nonexistent ending in CotM1 where everyone makes it out alive.)
      I wouldn't be surprised that, if they made a CotM3, they would ignore all that happened in the final episode of CotM2 and make another self-contained game.
      ... All I'm wondering at this point is "Where is Johannes? When can we play as him in a CotM game?"

    Great job on the music, thanks for uploading for everyone!
    Regarding the level, I think those swarms are actually insects/bugs rather than bats. Nothing about Bloodstained really holds to the vampire theme itself but heavily draws from the Ars Goetia demonology book, where most of the bosses are taken inspiration from. The final boss of episode one appears to be Beelzebub, aka Lord of the flies, which also fits the theme of the swarm of insects chasing you down far better than bats/vampire theme.

  • @TheSSBBfan666
    @TheSSBBfan666 4 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    i know its a longshot/ pipedream but Sakurai should try and get a Bloodstained character into Smash to celebrate how great this new series is doing and how cool it is. If Miriam can't make it, Zangetsu certainly would be a fine addition.
    also add Gabriel/Dracula as another DLC to be the rival to Simon and Richter.

    • @jakedge3
      @jakedge3  4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Zangetsu is probably the best thing about bloodstained, he's so overpowered in ritual of the night that just hearing about him in passing conversation with dominique sounds like a list of chuck norris facts.
      "Oh i forgot to mention, zangetsu can fly."
      Miriam: "Um...what?!"
      Because of fucking course he can.
      this game, especially the final act, just turns into "Zangetsu facts" fact#1: Zangetsu can cut the moon in half.
      No, seriously. he cuts the moon in half.

    If you get the good ending directly, you'll only unlock the final episode and will have to replay the episode 2 again to unlock episode EX, which is quitee dumb

    • @s07195
      @s07195 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't think there's any other difference from Episode 2 (other than routes) other than the fact you're using the OG cast for Episode EX, so personally I think it's better if you finish Final first, since it's more of a change of pace. EX feels like it's there for those who want more out of the game. Playing EX AND Final seems to be the reason why most reviewers got so burnt out by the end.

    • @gigaganon
      @gigaganon 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@s07195 the issue is, if you want to play everything, you will have to play the game one time more if you do good ending first, that's why if you want to do everything, it's better to get bad ending so that you can play every episodes without having to go through episode 2 two times

    Nearly everything about the 8-bit Bloodstained titles is so much more memorable and well directed in terms of music and especially the artstyle. I swear you have nothing in RotN that's on the level of the first freaking boss of CotM 2. I mean a Zombie Griffin with a gory skeleton mouth and a Xenomorph tail shooting lightning.
    As fine as RotN is (just fine imo) i always get a little bummed out that the 8bit spinoffs have nothing to do with it. Like building on CotM's Nightmare Final Boss in RotN instead of the lame animu knockoff story of Order of Ecclesia (love that game but it has the most glorified side story in any CV game) we got...sigh. At least Inticreates sort of know what they're doing with the IP.
