Mike, did you see the interview they did with Igarashi about this game? Konami basically told him, "Gothic horror adventure is dead, that era of Castlevania is over and no one wants it!", so he made the upcoming game, which looks like a spiritual successor to Symphony, and a few members of his team came to him with this, and basically told Konami "Fuck you, people like these games!" Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is pretty much a bonus game that the devs of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night made for us fans. Ritual of the Night is going to be more of the Metroidvania style of gameplay. theres trailers that show gameplay of it out there if you care to see it mike :)
If Mike says it's a good, then it's a good.
gamerdude0 oh trust me, do yourself a favour and buy this. You won't regret it. Best £8 I spent, I got it on Switch.
and if mike says go hang yourself you would hang yourself? do yourself a favor and build your own opinion and shave off that sheep mentality
@@stashallemagne4488 there's a difference between listening to someone you respect tell you that a game is good and committing suicide because they told you to
13:27 well, I’ve got some good news for you
Yeah, the intro rocked! Looks like a great game!
Check out these fan hacks or original games too:
- Super CastleVania 4: Other Castle
- CastleVania: The Lecarde Chronicles 2 (and maybe 1 as well)
For me Bloodstained Curse of the Moon is the real Castlevania 4 that was never made and we always wanted until now. So far this is my indie game of 2018 and is just in the indie category because God of War (Boi of War) was also out this year.
I love both Castlevania 3 and Bloodstained.
I didn't grow up on any Nintendo system, but I still grew up on some old games that yeah most people nowadays don't think to play cause they're "to hard" (really no one has any patience...).
I love all Castlevania games (it's my love) and Bloodstained is something I've looked foward to for years.
I adore this game and I can't wait for the full Bloodstained to come out next year.😄💙
Mike, did you see the interview they did with Igarashi about this game? Konami basically told him, "Gothic horror adventure is dead, that era of Castlevania is over and no one wants it!", so he made the upcoming game, which looks like a spiritual successor to Symphony, and a few members of his team came to him with this, and basically told Konami "Fuck you, people like these games!" Find his interview, I'm paraphrasing of course, but its great!
robowarriorx xx Konami have no idea what they’re doing. They’re sitting on a goldmine and they think the future of the company is pachinko.
Hey Mike are you gonna play or review "The Messenger Game" it's coming this thursday and i'm sure you know already.
men great review, really love the intro. I was thinking that both of you review a lot of videogames from past generations and stuff (also you're doing so much great man, really). Recently i was playing a great 8-bits games called MIBIBLI'S QUEST from ryan melmoth, it's an indie plataform game and it's a very underground game, but man it's THE game your mind will explode in one of the most weirdest, hardest and awesome game that i've ever played.
Hope you read this, greetings from Chile :)
Do you get a bad ending if you kill all the other characters?
I grew up on NES Castlevania & I absolutely love this game as well as Ritual of the Night. I play Curse on Vita & Ritual on PS4.
I don't know why I forgot about how great you are at reviewing games! I didn't finish this game for lack of spare time, but you made me wanna grab it asap. Thank you!
Curse of the moon was the surprise release of the year, and has refreshed all of our vintage-vania sensibilities - What a game, what a soundtrack. And what an intro! Top review mike, as always!
I had no idea you could kill or skip the allies. Man, that's cool
Glad you got this out there Mike. I was wondering when you would find it.
Hands down my favorite new yet retro review. Mike u murdered this review!
I'm shocked with how well done this review is. It's obvious that you have played and tested this exhaustively. But, it's to everyone's benefit; you highlight all of the features and shortcomings, while providing a fair comparison to Castlevania III. This is the kind of professionalism I am so happy to see on this channel. Thank you, Mike.
At first I agreed with you about the music not being very memorable, but over time, its kinda sticking. Great game, worthy successor.
I hope Limited Run Games makes a physical release of this game
Don't know if you're aware of this, but Gebel is set to be the main villain in the upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Pretty much the Dracula equivalent for that game.
Need to do a James & Mike Monday with this game.
Thank you Mike for keeping this channel alive!😀
