    The characters felt so real. It's the kind of movie to watch when you need a break from typical love stories.

    This actress has one of the loveliest faces of Korean women. There is something so sweet and feminine about her - I really do like her. And, her missionary husband has a lovely open face with the most captivating smile. His love just radiates towards his now wife. The pair of them are adorable. A great little narrative! Very enjoyable.

    Really enjoyed this Drama..although it appeared to touch lightly the intense differences between Nth and Sth Koreans My oldest brother (RIP) fought in the Korean War in 1950..The only movie that came close to what he described when in Korea was "The Brotherhood" with Won Bin..so this drama is pleasant in its development and gives a different view on how Koreans are today. though .still separate..Americans were the biggest danger..if there wasnt so many Koreans Americans would have tried to enslave the Nation of Korea...Nth and Sth....that was his view

Good Movie with a Powerful message within. If it wasn't for Corrupt Politics Korea would still be a United Country. Mad Men and Corruption cause Wars. Thanks for the Upload.

    Perhaps people are the same the world over. Nevertheless, I find it hard to accept that people, both adults and children, would verbally assault and throw things, even if like eggs they are not physically harmful, at an old man, a pregnant woman, and a 10 year old girl. Perhaps that partly explains why people are so quick to accept war.

      the *BIG* question is whether South Koreans can readily accept 24 million North Koreans (perhaps exclude 5,000 making up that MAD KimJU and his cronies!) should one day the DMZ border disappears one future day....
      Look at the crowd throwing eggs. They are also elderly ahjusshi war veterans. Maybe the type that hates the North

    • @minchoi9736
      @minchoi9736 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Don Wornock you don't even know Korea, the anti-communism laws and the NSL and gastank grandpas? Do even know how many people were massacred and murdered because they were falsely accused of being red communists in South Korea?

    • @DWornock1
      @DWornock1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Min Choi No! I don't. However, I don't see that as relevant because most likely they were not murdered by the South Korean people. Instead, I would think it was by government officials and the American military. Always, the leaders and high officials in the government and the military are evil sociopaths. That is seldom the case with the majority of the people.

    Beautiful music throughout the movie - so fitting!! Plaisir d’amour - Pleasure of Life was lovely I’m compelled to ask, what was God thinking when He created humankind, especially as God knows everything about each and everyone of us and how we will end up at the end of our life. He knows every hair on our head and He has carved us on the Palm of His Hand and He says, ‘You are Mine’. And to top it off, He gave us free will. It didn’t work too well in this movie, did it? The cruelty and wickedness of man never ceases to amaze me. Life is a battlefield. It begins with the family unit, extends into the wider community, then makes its way into countries and to the world at large. This movie was very realistic and conveyed the good, the bad, and the ugly side of humanity both in the family and the community. Then of course North Korea came onto the scene subtly with the son’s wife and her daughter coming onto the scene. You then have a kind of love, hate relationship between the son’s father and his wife and her daughter. A short movie but very succinct in depicting the various characteristics of man’s behaviour. One moment, the professor was a great person in the public eye and the next moment, because he had exiled North Koreans in his home, he was the worst person in the world. The poor woman came out to speak up for him, and although she fell to the ground in pain, people continued to attack her, taking no notice of her condition. Men and women’s behaviour looks so ugly and they become cruel in such a situation! Good will ultimately overcome evil, so there’s a ray of sunshine at the end. This is what this short impact filled movie evoked in me thanks to the WRITER and producer of this narrative.

    An excellent drama on the plight of North Korean defectors (thanks again, KBS World), and how they are perceived by many, mainly conservatives, in South Korea. Did these people ever stopped to think that North Koreans never asked to live in such a despicable dictatorship as North Korea? Did they ever stopped to think that it was not that long ago (the 1990s) that South Korea itself was a dictatorship run by the military, and that it was because of the presence of the American presence in their country, along with the concurrent presence of a foreign (and independent) Press, that student protests could be held, which eventually led to South Korea becoming a democracy?
    As an aside, I must say that not only in Korea, as shown in this drama, but also in America, Canada and Japan, the three countries where I've lived the longest and know best, conservatives in general are what must be the most despicable people that ever roamed [1] the Earth. And I'm restraining myself here 'cause I feel particularly forgiving tonight.
    [1] Yes, I did purposely used that word, "roamed", because in my mind, and in spite of the fact that they (think?) they are educated and therefore have learned what it means to be human, they still think and act like Neanderthals.
