You are a life saver!!! I was working on my Volvo S40 and saw the fuel rail attached to a metal fuel line with a weird looking connector. Since this video applies to Volvo S40 too, please catalog the video with that information. It will be much easier to search for the video.

Small warning: On each injector there's two o-rings: a slightly thinner one at the tip - manifold side, and a thicker one at the top - fuel rail side. These two o-rings appear similar but they are slightly different in size when looking closely so it's important to place each one at it's right location, or you may experience leaks. I'm sorry can't add this information on the video itself (TH-cam no longer allows to add notes on the videos) so I'm going to stick this comment at the top.

Careful with the Fuel pressure sensor screw (FPS) if there is one: the small T25 torx screw can be stuck and hard to turn, may even snap. Use only a T25 socket placed correctly and try giving small kicks to release it. Try spraying 1-2 weeks in advance with PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench, and go gently. If it snaps, the fuel rail will need replaced.

Thanks for sharing buddy, the second picture is the one same as my car s60 2000. I am thinking to remove the injector to clean them.

    Good job, understood.
Your comments regarding cleanliness are good. I took the cap off the schrader valve, like a tire valve, put a rag over and gently depress the inner valve in to release the fuel pressure. Like a tire valve. You have good pressure, thats good, tight, ah ha, protect your eyes. Lastly, very good video. Thanks..

@@Peppermint1 yes. I have one bolt, hard to get at, then I can remove the intake.
I like the way you think.
      You got it.
(Ps; I got this 850, very neglected and did a major overhaul on the tranny, revearse/f1clutch pack seized due to lack of fluid, via leak, neglect. Mess, but I am getting it, thanks to your help, little at a time..Cheers from Alaska. ).

I usually place a large piece of thick cardboard under the engine to catch any fluids that might leak. Since COVID, I have a lot of cardboard boxes from home deliveries!

Any idea what the metal saucer is on the fuel rail of the 2nd car? I’m told it’s either a pulse dampener or the FPR, but mine’s leaking fuel really bad.

My 2001 t5 has a metal/rubber line that comes around the front of and under the rail and just looks to be attached with fuel hose, I didn't see any clips. Was going to remove it to replace the injectors, but was able to just flip the rail upside down and work with it on the manifold.

Do you know the different types of injectors for these Volvo engines?
Mine is a 2002 model with the Denso injection type.
I suppose it needs another type of injectors than the same engines but then with the Bosch injection.

Not familiar with the injectors brands, I know the non turbo engine have green ones and turbo oranges ones

2 of the rubber seals on the electronics pigtails fell out when disconnecting them on my 06 s60r. I found one and put it back in but one I can’t find and I don’t know where to get another. Anyone have any idea where to get em? Just the little rubber rectangular seals that sit in the plug

    Hello.
I have a problem with whining fuel pump, changed for new one no luck.
I do not have pem module in my car, line in tank is not bend.
My mechanic changed orings, and after that it started to progressively whine.
My question is, if this orings 1346393 fit 06 V70 2.0t, and if not as I quess can they leak so bad to make the pump whine?
    Regards

If a seal is leaking it will smell gas. The injectors have two different o-rings, if I remember well the thicker one goes at the inlet and the thinner at the outlet. Also must coat the o-rings with Vaseline before installing back in the rail. Try to measure the fuel pressure. You can even read it live with one of those cheap OBD toggles and a phone with the Torque app. On the turbo the fuel pressure should be around 55-60psi at all times.

But the injectors shouldn't be to expensive to replace, right?

    • @Peppermint1
      @Peppermint1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Injectors on these gasoline Volvo rarely if ever need replaced. Some people prefer to replace the injector seals, I found mines are in perfect condition even after almost 20 years. Only be sure to use vaseline on any injector or fuel pressure sensor seals before placing back, so it doesn't get damaged.
