Can I just say I love how she doesnt put down anybody for the kind of oc they make and just overall makes people probably feel a lot better about the characters they're making.

I feel like I really have a special connection with all of my characters, and I try to give them diversity and happiness. Am I the only one who has 1 main OC that they incorporate into EVERYTHING? From games, to shows, to books, to random story’s that I create in my head knowing I could never actually create these concepts in real life?
I don't have just one main OC. Eeeeh... I suppose if I'm feeling in the mood to RP as a certain character, I will favor them more for a time until I find something else. All of my characters are geniusly developed to where they can be plugged into other RPs and genres. It is very rare I make a character that is set in place for a certain genre.

Most people just draw edgy stuff either because •Their actually in a dark place, and needs actual help, and their drawings are what they pour their emotions into. •They want to be cool •it’s their style •Because of past things (aka me) They simply enjoy drawing stuff Drawing doesn’t predict what your personality will be. Has your sister experienced any trauma? Like bullying, abuse, etc? She’s probably in a dark place and needs help. My oc is my version of how I see myself. So basically: colorless, boring, analytical, perfectionistic, a bit exaggerated on the hair, and socially awkward. Definetely not an ideal version of myself, but rather the version I see myself as.

I am a self-implementer. I usually give my characters the personality I wish I had and the features i wish I had TWT. Also, for me at least, this was scary accurate!
Definitely both the “self insert oc” and the “punching bag oc.” I have multiple ocs with tragic backstories, which for some reason is fun to come up with? I also have a self-insert oc, which is exactly how you described it. (Extremely confident, making up for parts of myself I feel I can work on, etc.)
I don’t make many OCs, but the few I did come up with always have some dark backstory. First Ocs: (SugerCoat and PepperLight) they were the same person, but there was an accident in her mother’s lab and they split into 2. New Oc: (Perovski) A little blind angel (hasn’t earned her wings or halo yet) who used to be human. she got tricked by some guy (spoiler alert: it’s her father bc yes) and she drank tea that was infused with deadly nightshade. dead, buried in the backyard, and now helps to serve in a tea shop. (dunno where, i just drew that and i love it.) trauma is fun! :’)
I find it extremely interesting that when i first saw this video, I thought I had a high fantasy oc just bc i drew a handsome genderbent tunic wearing version of myself at the time, but now my oc is just what I look like now with some very minor tweaks. My OC is the selfinsert OC, He's just a simple factory robot that develops human characteristics and thinks for itself, making it's own decisions, ends up with hobbies like drawing.
I love how nicely/accepting you spoke of everyone. Too many artists treat certain stereotypes as pathetic or lesser. But here you celebrated them and spoke of their usual creators as people. Even the gamer boy one with a stereotypical anime girl fantasy was portrayed as a chill well intentioned person with nothing offensive but a guilty pleasure. Your positivity is infectious, keep it up.
And then there's the person with a lot of different OCs; who loves everyone yet only draws them once or twice, is usually really introverted, and has made a least 3 new characters the next time you talk to them

One oc I have is something I like to call blank beings. They are blank characters who aren’t drawn with time and precision but they continue to obtain more color, personality and imagination as they go on adventures and spend social time to figure out what they like. And after some time I’m sure that the hundreds of blank beings could turn into real people. And once they complete their selves, I’m sure at least one person could relate to one of them.

Each oc feeds from the inner life of the creator. The always suffering OC has a reason why it's always suffering and no it's not that the creator is depressed. People mostly remember alot of lessons from hard times or mistakes in their past and believe that they are a better person thanks to these experiences, so creators who create punching bags get inspired to make their oc develop and become a better character by facing them constantly with challenges.

What I've noticed is that OCs often have a backstory that is a heavily exaggerated interpretation on the emotions that you have when you think about your present self's current state. OCs are also almost always designed around the traits that you idealize in a person.

I don't have just one main OC. Eeeeh... I suppose if I'm feeling in the mood to RP as a certain character, I will favor them more for a time until I find something else. All of my characters are geniusly developed to where they can be plugged into other RPs and genres. It is very rare I make a character that is set in place for a certain genre.

I don’t make many OCs, but the few I did come up with always have some dark backstory.
First Ocs: (SugerCoat and PepperLight) they were the same person, but there was an accident in her mother’s lab and they split into 2.
New Oc: (Perovski) A little blind angel (hasn’t earned her wings or halo yet) who used to be human. she got tricked by some guy (spoiler alert: it’s her father bc yes) and she drank tea that was infused with deadly nightshade. dead, buried in the backyard, and now helps to serve in a tea shop. (dunno where, i just drew that and i love it.)

I find it extremely interesting that when i first saw this video, I thought I had a high fantasy oc just bc i drew a handsome genderbent tunic wearing version of myself at the time, but now my oc is just what I look like now with some very minor tweaks. My OC is the selfinsert OC, He's just a simple factory robot that develops human characteristics and thinks for itself, making it's own decisions, ends up with hobbies like drawing.
I love how nicely/accepting you spoke of everyone. Too many artists treat certain stereotypes as pathetic or lesser. But here you celebrated them and spoke of their usual creators as people. Even the gamer boy one with a stereotypical anime girl fantasy was portrayed as a chill well intentioned person with nothing offensive but a guilty pleasure. I just made my main oc based off my fav things, somehow i made some weird aesthetic and backstory on the way of completing the oc. I change it so often that I made a big part of the story the backstory around her changing forms a lot. I haven't made a complete backstory yet but I've made the biggest details in it, and I think I'm happy with how it is rn! Also love your vids!!! :D

One oc I have is something I like to call blank beings. They are blank characters who aren’t drawn with time and precision but they continue to obtain more color, personality and imagination as they go on adventures and spend social time to figure out what they like. And after some time I’m sure that the hundreds of blank beings could turn into real people. And once they complete their selves, I’m sure at least one person could relate to one of them.

Each oc feeds from the inner life of the creator. The always suffering OC has a reason why it's always suffering and no it's not that the creator is depressed. People mostly remember alot of lessons from hard times or mistakes in their past and believe that they are a better person thanks to these experiences, so creators who create punching bags get inspired to make their oc develop and become a better character by facing them constantly with challenges.

What I've noticed is that OCs often have a backstory that is a heavily exaggerated interpretation on the emotions that you have when you think about your present self's current state. OCs are also almost always designed around the traits that you idealize in a person.
