I feel headed into San Francisco looks like a typical SoCal city but once you hit the city it’s a totally different vibe. It’s an East coast city with west coast appeal. Shame it’s falling apart but nothing that can’t be fixed. Absolutely beautiful city
I used to drive this every week in 1961-1963. I was studying acting and voice in San Francisco and lived in Santa Clara. At that time, it only took about 45 to 60 minutes. Now, I wouldn't know how to get there !
Thx so much for this scenic video. It brings back pleasant memories. San Francisco was my get away haven during the years 1993 -2007...for my young family and myself. Thx again.
This makes me nostalgic also. I drove this route twice a day for many years when I lived on the peninsula and worked in San Jose. This has got to be mid morning as I remember the freeway being considerably busier than this.
Even though it’s been more than 15 years…I used to driving from sanjose to SF hundred times ……Bayshore 101 was very familiar to me ..because I had been there over 22 years in North valley very near Capitol Ave…Wow …Oh my god so many memories….
I left California 50 years ago, and I've regretted it ever since. Now that I'm retired I probably couldn't afford to live there, but I do have some wonderful memories from half a century ago, when it really was The Golden State! P.S. I just read today that Elon Musk has given up on California. He's moving to Texas! Beware, Yellow Rose, The Silicon Kaiju are coming!
280 is much more scenic and less crowded. Depending on where you live and wehre you want to go, it might cost you around 5-10 minutes. I would always have that time.

@Donald Oglesbee I'm 65 now that was 35years ago, and I still have this car,I have own it 45years! It has a total restoration with 4 wheel disc brakes, 17 inch wheels, electric headlights motors, I drive it once every two weeks now, thanks my friend!
It's been a couple of decades since I drove on this highway. Grew up in East San Jose. As a kid, we drove this to go to Giants games or to the zoo. Fisherman's Wharf was a great place to walk around and eat. Not as much traffic as I remember. I guess Newsome's policies had something to do with this.
I think one alternative to traffic woes is to let the companies start working hours at different time. All starting at 9 AM is not useful. Some can start at 1PM or allow half working day at office and rest from home.
Why didnt you take 101 into the city, you know it turn into streets until it gets to the persidio and starts to become a freeway again as it goes over the Golden Gate Bridge, right?
Miss seeing good old CandleStick Park while driving up 101 North. I’m out in San Mateo but I still take that freeway every week when I visit my pops who still lives in the City (Alemany Projects)
Uhh that will b so nice if traffic was like these at leat 4 days a week its so bad now, leaving in the bay area sucks now not to mention rent prices wtf happen
why? It's a video of a freeway that's lined with light industrial stuff, strip malls, an airport, office parks, and middle class to working class residential areas. There are lots of poor people in the Bay Area, in fact many of them live close to the freeway in this video. Not everyone around here is mark zuckerberg lol
This makes me feel nostalgic even though I drive this highway a minimum of 2 times a week
Do you remember Route 17??

Let's go giants in San Francisco beat LA dodgers !!!

Brings back fond memories of the journeys from 2014 and 2016 when I was visiting the area.
Drove from SJ to SF on this route on Nov. 28th. Not many people on the road.... Wish the road was this easy to navigate all of the time!
Desde los años 90's e manejado estas carreteras y otras mas al crusar elste pais 🌹🇲🇽🐝
yo no manejar bicicleta se
Wow this drive is never this empty or this quick hahaha
If you do it on a weekday it usually is this empty. That's how it was for me at least
@@lailab1493 on a weekday empty? Lol those are the days with the most traffic on here.
@@TOTO_209 Work from Home
Before lockdown driving there was furious
Did you drive during the weekend before 12pm? There’s like no traffic
oh this is like driving on an early sat. morning

this is definitely during the pandemic--normal traffic is much heavier---great vid!
I love this video. It lets me enjoy the scenery instead of avoiding the idiots that are commonplace on 101. I used to drive this all the time.

@@bodybyfisher44 From what I've read, this appears to be true! It breaks my heart!
@@bobsingh5521 lol bullshit San Francisco is a lively pulse.
Missing all the oleanders that used to divide the freeway from SF to Burlingame.
Missed those days when I was working in the Silicon Valley and lived in Daly City. Sometimes I used I280 for a more scenic drive.
Que tomas de Image tan panoramicas de buena calidas , so aprecia todo en Imagen muy bien.🌹🇲🇽🐝

Thanks! 👍
سبحان الله العظيم 💙
So many people have no idea how long it takes or how far it is to drive from San Jose to San Francisco. So annoying.
Hi Rebecca how're you doing today...?
Bro got passed from the right lane so many times 🤣
Must be a Saturday or Sunday drive because during the week this trip would have taken you close to 2 hours.
I think one alternative to traffic woes is to let the companies start working hours at different time. All starting at 9 AM is not useful. Some can start at 1PM or allow half working day at office and rest from home.
Nice 👌
Has anyone noticed the excess garbage/trash along the freeways now?
Was this on a weekend? Nice btw
Was low key hoping I drove by in this. Lmao
Este es el lado del 101 autopista, porque esta tambien el de el lado del free eay 280
Me gusta más el 280 es mas bonito porque hay más árboles

The video started in Santa Clara.
He started by the airport so technically he started in San Jose

The same trash on the freeway is there from when I moved 20 years ago. San Jose is a very Dirty City.
