    Watched this video years ago Ron, & enjoyed it years later. I have been partial to Williams pinball machines, & I preferred F-14 Tomcat out in the wild. The only Gottlieb pinball machine I enjoyed was The Class of 1812. Your F-14 repair series brought me here this time.👍

    I know it's a few months old. But any idea what the two buttons under the shooter rods do. I have looked in the manual but no luck. They are hooked up to the harness so they have to do something I would guess. Thanks

      Sure thing Jon, these Gottliebs were some of the first to have 'alpha numeric' displays, which means that you can display letters as well as numbers. So when the game is over on a Gottlieb System 80B (which this is)... it asks you to enter your initials if your score was high enough. So the two buttons are only used to enter your initials....

    You do great work and I love to see these pinballs again but when you film game play can you make it a little lighter? I know you are showing off the light show but I am getting old now and it's hard for me to follow the play LOL. It was great seeing so many of the games that made me a poorer teen, You even did the first ever game I ever played (Williams Star Pool)

      These 80's Gottliebs are my favorite, my prediction is one day they will all be worth a fortune. Just a few years ago, these were the cheapest ones you could buy... but here we are all these years later and people are starting to notice that there were less of them made, AND they all have interesting features you don't have in most games. They're very unique and in my opinion collectible and desirable because of it. Stuff like this, and there was one called Lights, Camera, Action... one called "Big House".... "Genesis" , even some of the less involved ones like "Hot Shots"... these are all going to be very desirable in the future.

    My Goldwings has the same wear near the loop shot. Your playfield is in better shape than mine though. I've never made it in the aircraft carrier by doing the loop...I always seem to put it in by aiming between the 3 and 4 targets. ^_^ The Sirens not THAT loud...just don't play it at night with the windows open.

    Hey Joe! You wouldn't happen to have a manual for Gold Wings? I am trying to see if there is a dip switch setting that turns off the siren. Mine works if I manually activate it, but doesn't work in the game.

    Gold Wings may be indeed a ripoff of Top Gun, but that movie is absolutely the most hollow film ever made! The fact that it inspired the creation of a pinball machine is the only noteworthy reason for it to exist.

    Joe, I was wondering if you were planning to move into the modern arcade business by getting rid of your present classic arcade video and pinball gaming systems totally? Or do you have a supply bit of both the old gen and the new for sale?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't operate them, we just sell them, so we buy old ones, fix them, and sell them. We've got tons of them, that's how we can do so many videos.. but most of them are already sold by the time the video makes it online!

      @@LyonsArcade yeah so I found out today that when I close the door or open it some of the lights and where it keeps score goes off an on and if it's done right then it stays on, plus if you look strong in right in the middle on the bottom theres a box type looking thing that looks kinda corroded, any thoughts on what that part is and why it does that with when the door open and shuts, I check the wires and there are no loose ones but then again there are like over a thousand there lol any thoughts?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you shut the door, is there a button that the door presses in? Sometimes they had a switch so it could tell if the door was open. So it may be resetting it when the door shuts, it's called an operator switch.

      I haven't had this game for awhile so I don't remember what's down there. It might just be the relay for the horn. That switch you're talking about is the test switch, i'm saying is there a button that the door itself presses?
