Splendid remix of one of the best songs of The Bee Gees in the 60'S, their best time in my opinion. Thanks for this new gem 👍👌😊

Their 2 drummers both passed away within days of each other earlier this month. RIP.

Great remix again Pat - I'm coming to appreciate the Bee Gees more now than I did at the time and of course the enhanced quality helps. Sharon Tandy recorded a really powerful cover of this song which is well worth listening to, in my opinion at least.

🎧👍👍 Hi, Pat: The introductory bass note is deep and wonderful. I think the first Bee Gees album I had was Cucumber Castle which I love. My second was the Idea cassette while my brother had The Horizontal cassette. Our early Bee Gees albums were on the ATCO label and the bass would loosen the screws in the plasterboard. The bass on the cassettes was even more devastating. I think this song is the first track on Horizontal and, as with most early Bee Gees albums, almost all the 'filler' tracks were good too (except for To Whom It May Concern). Checkered flag for this one, Pat and a great sound and stereo mix. It's nice that Barry and Robin shared vocals here. I could talk for a great while about these guys and the albums I had. When I sold my album collection, I had 21 Bee Gees albums of various sorts with Spirits Having Flown as my last. My favourite three artists are, Gordon Lightfoot, The Bee Gees and The Moody Blues. Thanks again, Pat; I'll have to listen to Cucumber Castle again...and Horizontal.

Hi Bill. My older brother was a huge Bee Gees fan and had all of their pre disco albums. But he hated the falsetto stuff. I like almost everything they have ever done and I grew up listening to their early albums. I know their back catalogue inside out !

@@radiowollaton8521 Then you will know what I mean when I say that, 'Portrait Of Louise' is one of my favs. Turning Tide from CC is my favourite one from there but I like them all (on CC). Thank you for your nice reply.

@@radiowollaton8521 I also had a three album box set called, 'Rare, Precious and Beautiful'. It had a butterfly on the cover and was on the Polydor label. Spicks and Specks and Turn Around, Look at Me were on it and there were two songs that I thought I recognized from my childhood. They are, Cherry Red and Where Are You. They must have gotten some airplay here back in the mid sixties.

    Lyrics:
    Now, I have found
    That the world is round
    And of course
    It rains everyday
    Living tomorrow
Where in the world will I be tomorrow?
How far am I able to see?
    Or am I needed here?
    Now, I have found
    That the world is round
    And of course
    It rains everyday
    If I remember
All of the things I have done
    I’d remember
All of the times I’ve gone wrong
Why do they keep me here?
    Now, I have found
    That the world is round
    And of course
    It rains everyday
    And now, I’ve found
    That the world is round
    And of course
    It rains everyday
    And now, I’ve found
    That the world is round
    And of course
    It rains everyday
    And now, I’ve found
    That the world is round
    And of course
    It rains everyday

Nice song, but you can argue about the kitschy lyrics. Not released as a single in the USA, but very successful everywhere else (number 1 in Germany). The song was originally recorded without orchestra and then overdubbed in mono on 1 track to record the orchestra on track 2. But our digital wizard has once again created a great stereo version.

Never really a Bee-Gee fan but they could write some great songs and can remember this record. Funny enough, I did not mind their disco stuff. Great stereo by the way Pat.

Hey fellow hobbyist here I've been loving your videos. I recently discovered this kind of format.(Fan driven remasters/mixes), before I'd see separate stems uploaded think like those vocal only type videos. Anyway I started dabbling with OpenVino in Audacity/UVR5 and was wondering if you had any tips or advice. The song in particular I'm having trouble is "The Proud One" by Frankie Valli it almost sounds blown out? Thanks again and keep up the great work Pat!

    • @excrono

Best advice is to stem and mix the full drum kit.

    • @radiowollaton8521
      @radiowollaton8521  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Just had a listen. It's a really poor stereo mix, like a lot of the early Four Seasons mixes. The EQ is all wrong (too shrill) and the hard panning needs sorting out. Have a read of my home page, I've put some info on there about my remixing methods. You're Ready Now sounded similarly bad but I managed to tame that one. I will have a go at The Proud One now that you've brought it to my attention! th-cam.com/video/I8d9BTugHqo/w-d-xo.html

ATCO in the US missed out on this one. This could have been the first hit single from the "Horizontal" album. Instead, they chose to release 'Holiday', the third single from "Bee Gees 1st".

    • @radiowollaton8521
      @radiowollaton8521  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Holiday should have been a single here in the UK. But it wasn't released, for some strange reason. Same with I Started A Joke.
