@@JonniHill Thank you for being here and enjoying the video! 🙂🙏 and alas that’s the reality of knifemakers 🤣 plenty of scars to show the past 5 years of experience in this trade
Absolutely awesome, best video I've seen in a while. Your explanation and skills are second to none. I wish I was in the position to purchase 1 because I would not waste a second. GOOD LUCK YOUNG MAN. you truly are an artist.
Good video. Didn't think you would get a harmon Out of 80 CRV. S grind would have been really really nice on this knife. Made one for a relative who is a professional caterer and she loves the s grind
Japanese single bevel knives are supposed to have a concavity ground into the non-bevelled side. This ensures that there are no high spots that interfere with the whetstone making contact with the edge during sharpening.
Ahh Alas; during editing I realized my blunder there and wondered if any would catch that! Thank you haha! Thanks for checking out the video, God bless - Ian
@@ndnnitemare34 Honestly it depends! On a little grill tank I can usually get about 1.5 hours, but on my 100 lb tank it usually lasts about two days worth of heavy forging! A 35lb tank is also a great option I used for years and that lasted typically 3 or so hours Thanks for checking out the video! God bless and merry Christmas!
Relaxing vid and alpreciate you orting your body on the line for this knife!

I was just going to say that. Lol.
How long does the forge last on one propane tank? I’m considering investing in one, but just wondering.

What did you quench it in?
This one was quenched in a Parks 50 Quench oil!
I know your calipers are probably not used for perfect precision but watching you as an machinist it hurts to watch you scribe lines with them😂
music choice at the end there sounds more chinese than japanese
Ahh that’s fair! Thanks for checking out the video though 🙂🙏 God bless - Ian Z
