Last winter was the first year I have used electronics for ice fishing and everyone gave me so much grief about it because they didn't need a gizmo to tell them how deep it was. They are the classic Mainah type that drops a minnow on a plain hook 6 inches off the bottom with a tipup. Soon as I started pulling slab crappie hand over fist out of the hole jigging a tungsten jig because I could see them suspended and I could see them coming up to my jig and make them chase it up... well let's say Humminbird sold some units that night and Northland tackle sold some jigs on that same slip. 20 tip ups out and everyone was huddled around my hole watching the screen. So seeing a jig that gives me a better sonar return will make it even better and thank you for making the hook more useful! What a pain in the butt some of those jigs can be to bait. I never thought about the loop knot... great tip.

Love these videos! I only started ice fishing last season and was told to have 6 lb lines. Guess I will be making a stop tonight to get myself some 2lb lines. Keep up the great content.

Go 3lb. 2 lb can break if your drag sucks or if you pull a knot too hars

6 lbs. is good for walleye & pickerel. but 2-3 lbs. is best for panfish.

Nicely done. I really liked line choices. To me that’s the difference between failure and success!

I like that the bulk of the pour, on these jigs, is below the shank, and not on top.
Every damned tungsten jig around here, has it on top, leaving little opening between the hook point and the head.

Can you do a side by side an show the return difference on a micro jig with a flat surface an one with slightly rounded ? I would really like to see the big difference this makes ?

Heavier line high vis line (not leader) can hold a coil... a coiled line is good a strike indicator.

I had no idea fish look at jigs and think to themselves "hey is this what we've been eating? Does this look buggy?" Lol. I always thought they eat when they're hungry and occasionally when they're annoyed and don't when they're not. 😁

Why is this video with 2 ppl narrating? Why do we need the guy on shore next to firewood along a steel shed to preface everything?
