I did setup my EF Johnson as a non affiliated conventional scanner but id rather have it follow the trunk and TG,s i wanna hear but remember these radios are only phase 1 fdma
I am sending you this message to ask. Is there any way I can listen to my local sheriff's department and get the weather band I do not want to transmit. I just want to listen I have AXTS 5000 model 3.
Hopefully this answers your question. Through programming, not FPP, actual computer programming of this radio (other radios can do this too) you can set your RX frequency (Recieve) as what you want, in this case your sheriff station's frequency then set your TX (Transmit) to some random frequency. This will ensure if you accidentally say something on the radio it will transmit on that random frequency you typed in but you still can listen to the sheriff station. I use this because it's helped me not get arrested for clicking the panic button on my radio by accident. Also most frequencies are listed on the Radio Reference website, or at least for me my county's emergency dispatch has a website that lists the frequencies.

Pretty sure you would need the frequency your local sheriffs department is using

Edit: I believe on model 3 xts5000's you can set TX and RX frequencies without a PC.
Easy to find via radio reference @@averigonzalez2157
I have a EF Johnson 5100es model 3 I need to get a dummy system key can you help ? I can make a Motorola one but not EF Johnson
Im getting the same radio from a friend do all the radios with keypad can lrogram from keypad or still need to do it by computer if the fpp dont show
The radio needs the FPP flash code as well as the FPP in the menu. Otherwise Astro25portable CPS to do much with it.
Get the USB programming cable and you can easily get the software 3rd party to unlock the flash code
I would love to wipe this radio clean and have a factory reset or whatever it is called.I just want to use it as a scanner.Nothing else
Leave it as is, just dont key up on it
Non affiliated scanner Nas
Bet your fpp password is 0000000
