    I LOVE Masque Milano. My favourites are Love Kills, Petra, Russian Tea, Lost Alice and Tango. Madeleine is ok, but fleeting on my skin. Next on my wishlist is L’Attesa 💜

    I didn't know about Masque Milano! Thank you! Friday I was searching for some new particular fragrances, but I was not in Rome and didn't know where exactly to go, but I met a delicious woman who showed me the limited edition of Acqua di Parma Bergamotto, wich Is made in a very special way, using sea sponges on Bergamot juice and peel, and was way more interesting than an usual Bergamot scent , so I suggested her to layer it with Sakura , always from Acqua di Parma, and together they were a perfect spring perfume, and thought of you and your elegance😘

    Francesca Bianchi fragrances are hard to like. They're not mass appealing, yet I love under my skin. I fond it an easy animalic......I'm that girl that loves Maai from bogue and Salomé from papillon....you get my taste lol 😆

    I'm in love with the boldness of Francesca Bianchi. It's funny that you mentioned these to houses because, i just tried Tango for the first time today and have just ordered Mandala and Terralba from Masque Milano.
    This is the first video i've ever watched from you and i'm curious about something. What kind of music are you into? You look like someone i'd meet at a TOOL concert. Tell me i'm right

      I listen to lots of different music genres, love 80s stuff... don't really have a go-to. Unfortunately not a huge fan of tool, sorry 😬

    Yana, you have no idea how much I enjoy your niche reviews, I like your taste and presentation. I was actually very interested in trying Masque Milano, so will def check Rafinad for samples (big thanks for the promo!). As for the other brand, to be honest provocative names put me off a little bit, as my mind starts conjuring a pop singer who shows too much skin to compensate for mediocre vocals if you know what I mean. I do realise it is a trend to lure in with provocative names (Tom Ford), religiousness (Amouage) or skulls and secret societies' symbols (Kilian and Initio). I get that it draws in lots of younger folks, but I will pass those myself.

    Just so you and your followers know, Francesca Bianchi DOES use real castoreum and civet, NOT synthetic. She is apparently working on cruelty free alternatives, but for right now, these ingredients are derived from animals .

    • @TheScented
      @TheScented  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting! I was under the impression that fragrances not adhering to IFRA material standards can't be sold on the public market

    • @meghancowling3479
      @meghancowling3479 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheScented It’s possible that Francesca Bianchi is not an IFRA member/ her perfumes are not IFRA compliant. I know there are some niche/indie perfumers who aren’t. From what I understand, IFRA apparently makes guidelines, not laws and perfumers don’t *have* to follow them. Different countries/regions have their own restrictions and I think some, like the EU, look to IFRA guidelines to inform what they allow to be sold and where. I’ve also read that IFRA non-compliance can make it difficult or impossible for a perfumer to acquire product liability insurance, which would limit what stores/suppliers would carry their products.
      I’ve *heard* that animal-derived ingredients like civet and castoreum aren’t IFRA compliant, but it’s been hard for me to find definitive answers about whether this is true. I think IFRA guidelines are more about skin reactions. I am not an expert by any means (just a fragrance lover), so it would be wise to do your own research about the IFRA stuff, but Francesca Bianchi is forthcoming about the use of animal-derived ingredients on her website here: www.francescabianchiperfumes.com/sustainability-ethics/ I am not vegan myself, but I was surprised to discover this because I always thought those ingredients were more or less obsolete in modern perfumery. I am glad she discloses it so that consumers can make an informed choice.
      I love your channel, by the way.

      Thanks for bringing up this topic! Actually 3 months ago already I have introduced in the market the fragrances with replacers, so cruelty-free. I follow IFRA standards, still the use of castoreum and civet is not restricted by IFRA at the moment. Be aware that IFRA is about human safety and not ethic choices.

    • @meghancowling3479
      @meghancowling3479 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@francescabianchiperfumes3831 wow, thanks so much for replying! I was trying to do my own research and was having trouble finding information about IFRA’s standards with regard to animal-derived ingredients. It seems like IFRA is concerned with the safety of ingredients, but I’ve heard folks mention IFRA when discussing conservation and ethics in perfumery which I think is where the confusion comes in. It really isn’t easy to find clear information on this topic. I am not a strict vegan, but I do try to be an informed consumer, so I really appreciate your input. I am pretty new to perfume as a hobby/obsession and I can’t wait to try your work/Francesca Bianchi’s offerings.

      Bianchi did an interview with The Perfume Guy, Sebastian, and she said she has moved away from authentic animalic ingredients due to “animal cruelty” reasons. She said she found good replacements.

    Petra is a famous city in Jordan. Madeleine a small cake.

    • @TheScented
      @TheScented  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that is right, they are both women's names as well. The fragrances have an illustration of a woman on each one.
      The madeleine cakes/biscuits were created by a woman named Madeline Paulmier

    • @lucianasavaris9499
      @lucianasavaris9499 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Scented I checked the website and you are right. The name of the collection is Le Donne, meaning the women. I remember when they launched the fragrances, the first reviews mentioned Madeleine was a literal interpretation of the cake and Petra leaning towards spicy and exotic side. Petra also means Rock and Petra is know as Rocky city. I guess it is confusing if they wanted to play an homage to the city / cake or to the women. Maybe both? Anyways, thanks for the review. Those are all great scents!
