I look forward to seeing Lichtman once again prove the pollsters, pundits, and media wrong with his prediction as he so often has.

He's a clever man, but do you think Biden can go the next few months without any more gaffes or public humiliations? Plus I disagree with his last points. Yes, there will be a larger number of voters dismissing the debate performance... But there is a significant number who aren't. Those voters will now be on the fence or just not vote at all. With so many tight swing states, that could be enough to lose him the election.

Ya CNN was disgusting in it's post debate converge. Total sensationalist bs trying to bury Biden. And they actually weird a lot of influence which makes it even worse. Their panic didn't at all line up with the early polling or watch party interviews. They just want to sell ad revenue, watch The Network movie if you haven't. Lichtman is almost right on this one. In fact, 90 percent of the time his reasoning works -- his 13 keys cover a lot of practical ground that affects voter behavior. Best predictive theory I know of when it comes to Presidential elections. It is true that debates have never made much if any difference. But have we ever had a debate where one of the debaters presented himself as feeble and possibly in the early stages of dementia? I mean it looked that bad. Parties have traditionally done a pretty good job of screening their candidates. Until very recently. Trump is using populist fascism to get around proper review, and Biden is getting around proper review due to elite Dems' laziness, it would seem. Someone who works with Joe on a regular basis must know that he has slipped a bit in the last 2 or 3 years. Why aren't they being listened to... or do they really think this is okay?
His keys are irrelevant for this election. Double incumbents plus a candidate who already had severe doubts in his mental condition, losing in the polls & then having the worst debate performance in history confirming all of the suspicions.

I realize that Professor Lichtman doesn't have an incapacitation key. But to that end, I would argue that the notion Biden can serve two terms is not a rational view of reality. Since he cannot serve two terms, Dr. Lichtman's incumbency key is gone already. The technicality of whether Biden steps aside or not is irrelevant to Lichtman's system. The Democrats no longer have that key.
I believe Biden can serve two terms. He had an exceptional 1st term. What I can't believe is a convicted felon, rapist, habitual liar, insurrectionist and fraudulent person isn't being told to step down. Unbelievable!
1:30 I would have said about how people are choosing not to vote at all. I've never seen an election where people just chose not to vote due to who the options are those people have said. I'm new to everything about elections so maybe this happened before but people are telling me this is the first.
A few thoughts on the professor’s comments. First his track record isn’t flawless. He got Gore V Bush wrong. Second, some of his keys are rather subjective. Third, he seems to have a bias toward Biden. How does that bias help to inform his decisions on the subjective keys? And while it’s true a lot of incumbents have had a bad first debate only to comeback and win the election. But this wasn’t just a bad debate. It was a disaster. And obvious to anyone with a functioning frontal cortex that President Biden is in a state of serious mental decline. There’s no recovering from that. Biden literally declared victory over Medicare. Which I didn’t know we were at war with. But I’m glad we won. Maybe, going forward, the professor should add a fourteenth key, does the president have dementia?
If the Supreme Court hadn't stopped the recount....Gore probably would've won. Supreme Court should have allowed the count. Willing to bet Lichtman was correct

Biden was pushed beyond the limit of a 45 year old. My 60 year old sister just returned from a 2 week cruise to Alaska - a vacation with no worries or stress and only 3 time zones. Ten days later she is finally feeling better after being jet lagged and exhausted upon her return. Nor is she a ‘head of state’. Lichtman created the Keys to the White House model which has correctly predicted the winner of every US presidential election since 1984 except 2000. When he correctly predicted Trump's win in 2016, Trump personally congratulated him with a note that said, "Congrats, professor. Good call. Donald J Trump."

Those keys are based on over 150 years of electoral history dating back to before the Civil War. In that time, we have had a president serve in a wheelchair, and another be paralyzed by stroke so severely that the First Lady had to take over until the end of his term.
Presidential incapacitation is not a key and we do not get to simply add it. Disagree with the model if you like, but the model is what it is.

The fall of the USSR, the attack on the WTC, the Recession of 2008, the rise of the Internet and social media, and a worldwide pandemic all occurred since the model's inception. None of those triggered a change in the model, and certainly not an added key. Lichtman has speculated criminal conviction could be seismic, but it's untested speculation.
