- Welcome back to Tims Cotteswold Farm: We Moved To a No Tillage System
After several years we have finally committed to a no-till farming system. The Claydon strip till drill arrived several months ago and we have been keen to try it out. This video is the set up and our first 2 days with the drill.

Like the 3 MTR drills you can batter on and you don't need them big fancy tractors a good 6 cylinder and away you go
Strip-till - is an intermediate step between ploughing/tillage and no-till. This is the path to zero-tillage 😉. A good approach.
Well I’ve bite the bullet and put my name on a 3m grain&fert claydon 🤞🏻 yours looks to be going well. 👍
Excellent news! Who was that through? G+F - good choice
@@Timscotteswoldfarm it’s all dependent on the grant scheme. Had to put my name on one. 🤞🏻as it’s the way I want to go.
Looks like it did a great jib Tim, were you planting into straw stubble direct in the second & third field or had you given them a run of something first?
Hello, thank you! No, all 3 fields were bean stubble. We simply tickled them at 1’’ with NZ. Just to get seeds to chit. That was in Sept. Heatwave. Next video will just explain this point as few people have got in touch to ask : D
See you took the plunge - presumably you got a grant to soften the blow! Look forward to seeing how it copes with your cover crops and horse muck.
