Hello! Today I will be teaching you how to knit lace manually on your knitting machine which I demonstrate on my LK150. A lace chart is provided so that you can practice making a swatch alongside me. In this video I demonstrate all of the techniques used in my new dress design "Wild Irises", linked above. First, I show you how to cast on and do a decorative picot hem. Then I walk you through every row of the lace chart and how to read the symbols. Next I show you how to scrap off and rehang your knitting to create a gather, then how to finish your knitting with a picot edging. Lastly I show you how to add I-Cord straps directly onto your knitting, and all of the finishing techniques I used for the dress. Enjoy!

Nice video and cute pattern. One little hint: to prevent ANY curl of the hem, do the underside (first 4 rows) at a tighter tension than the last 4 rows. Try one whole number or even 2. Depends on your yarn.
My first of many visits to your videos because that was most informative for a newbie like me!
So happy to hear that Brenda!
This was great! Please do more machine knitting projects.
So happy to hear you liked it! 😊

This is beautiful, I love watching your tutorials as you give me confidence to try new things. Just wanted to also say your nail colour is lovely, I love the feminine style of your hands, clean and fresh xx
Awww thanks!
At 1:27 ... what a beautiful dress. I am big fan of you, and your channel, and apparently I am a big fan of knitting and knitting machines. I just discovered these knitting machines recently, and I just fell in love with concept of turning yarn or other types of threads into clothes. I do not have the patience to try to learn what you do (at this time), but if you were my next door neighbor, I would beg you to let me move that handle back and forth for you. I love that part. The automation part. I am in forever search of that automated process to make something. ...and I am still searching. From what I see, it is almost impossible to automate stuff completely. Much of it is by design, which is sad, but ...oh well, I keep searching. What a great dress you made, and your presentation of everything is amazing. You are a lovely women with a great hobby and talent.. Cheers!!!
Awww thank you!
It is very good and interesting patterns and styles. Thank you so much with this contribution. But I need to learn how to vest and pant for babies.

It is very good and interesting patterns and styles. Thank you so much with this contribution. But I need to learn how to do vest and pant for babies with knitting machine but without Les carriage
I can't stop watching your cute cat LoL! Your sundress is stunning! Do you have a beginner tutorial on how to use the LK 150? I've been reluctant to purchase one for this reason. Following the instructions in a written manual will be hard for me.
Hi! Lol! She really stole the show didn't she? 🐱 Thank you! I don't have one yet, but there are definitely some out there, I will add it to my list! The first tutorial I made is intended for the beginner and covers a lot of the basics: th-cam.com/video/ZMonuoli2KA/w-d-xo.html Agree that learning through videos is a lot more fun than reading an instruction manual!
@@girlyknits Thanks so much‼️
Amazing job. Please make more 🙏❤️
Thank you! Would love to know what you want to learn!
I didn't even wait to watch it before liking cos I know it gonna be epic

@@dooshineabur5742 Awww yay! Happy to hear that! 💜
@@dooshineabur5742 💪 you figured correctly. I'm currently trying to make one for myself, I tried yesterday and I developed head pain. Left it to continue today, were you able to try making one for yourself
Besides @girly knits has made me prouder. I love her and she explains so well
@@kiki_precise .I'm also from Naija.Benue precisely. I haven't started.I use a standard knitting machine, usually will do some calculations first.so I can get it right using my standard knitting machine. Kh881.will updated you. Sorry about your pain.

Coisa mais linda do mundo Amei era tudo o que eu precisava

Hola ¿Podrías poner, para ver en varios idiomas?saludos desde España.
This is so darn cute looking. I want to order the yarn and pattern. I am just learning my LK150- I hope this isn’t too difficult
It's a little more challenging than basic stockinette, but once you get used to your machine hopefully using this tutorial you will be able to do it!
Thank you very much ❤
You're welcome! 😊
Beautiful cat and dress
Thank you! 😊
Очень красиво
Adult size? It looks like it would fit a 12-14 yr old. Do like your LK 150 tutorials, and how you show detail. Thanks.
I have a bond knitting machine that I bought back in the 90s that I just found back in a box and I’m going to try using it again. Those cast-iron combs are amazing where would one get those that latch together. Beautiful tutorial
Thank you! I think Kris Krafter makes a cast on comb for the bond!
@@girlyknits thanks!

Hello nice video ...
Ce mașina de tricotat folosiți va rog? Foarte frumos lucru!
Hi, can I use the same methods with a normal knitting machine?
Thanks really like your videos
Yes you can use these techniques on any flat bed machine!
Looks like a great technique but honestly I can not see what you're doing. I can see above the machine but you can't see what the needles are doing with the yarn. Would not be able to figure this out as a newbie.
Hey Noelle! This tutorial would probably be easier to follow once you have a bit more experience with the machine. My bra top tutorial would be a great place to start for a beginner. I hope you come back to this one!
Wow 👍 the body kit how many
What’s the brand and the modal of your machine, looks very cute and light weight.
Hi Hua! It's an LK150. Here is a link to where I bought it from: www.allbrands.com/products/3746-silver-reed-lk150-needle-6-5mm-mid-gauge-beg-hobby
Hi can I please ask how many stitches you cast on on your dress?
Thanks
Hi! It would depend on what size you are making. You can find the girls pattern here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wild-irises-girls-dress and the adult pattern here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wild-irises-lace-dress
The yarn you used is discontinued. Do you have any other suggestions? Even on Lion Yarns website they suggested 2 other yarns and those are also both discontinued lol. Thanks.
Oh no! This was a very unique yarn that I'd never seen anything like before, but you can honestly use any DK weight yarn that you like.
I need this dress pattern if it goes on sale, it is so pretty
It goes up to a 47" bust!
Hi is it OK to use DN wool on this machine, thanks 😊
Do you mean DK? If so, absolutely! 😀
The Casita and the slave
Send the size needle beetle
Where did you get your knitting machine?
Allbrands.com was very happy with them!

Sorry to be so "green" but what is an eyelet?
Haha it's basically just a small hole!
@@girlyknits so you just put that needle in the "off" position for that row?
Oh... you create an eyelet by transferring the stitch either to the right or the left. I think I get it.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💟💙💟💙💟💙💟
