Been a marathoner road runner for years. But decided 7 years ago after running my last Boston and approaching my 50's. I needed to get off the road. Took up trail running in 2014 and haven't turned back! I follow Miss Courtney and love her determination and love for the sport. Congratulations to her big win 🏆!!!

Really had hoped for more detail on nutrition. Clearly she likes to keep these details secret, while promoting a care-free, eat candy type of narrative. Man, what I'd pay to just learn exactly what these pros take in each hour during an ultra, especially fixed time track ultras. Clearly liquid calories are very popular. Wonder if she's using Maurten, and whether or not she's found gels to be too much added sugar while already doing the the drinks? Had that happen to me recently and saw my heart rate spike to uncomfortable levels. Still trying really hard to figure out this puzzle for myself. All in all, wonderful interview. Courtney is in my opinion the most influential ultra runner alive and we're so lucky to watch her perform.
Most runners are pretty open about it tho... mostly gels, watermelon and often solid fuels later in the race, lots of Spring liquid fuel, not as much Maurten cuz its obscenely expensive xD Courtney loves mashed potatoes in reusable pouches
Jeff Pelletier actually has a video about an ultra race he did with his gf (wife? Fiance?) This year, and you can actually see all the food in the video! He doesn't really name it, but he goes over his race kit so all of it is clearly visible!
When ever my running-motivation drops, I find something on YT with Courtney.
And then I go running with a smile again :-)
