This is something from the movies. BMW is so awesome. HMMMV glass on a Bimmer, maintaining driving dinamics, Ballistic integrity, and that driver training! I have got to do that!

I live in Rome and I see very often the X5 Security Plus used by police. It’s beautiful
amazing, i didn't know bmw took care of making security vehicles so hard.

I think both of those professions require a lot of stealth and anonymity as I don't think spies or assassins are particularly useful if everyone can tell who they are by what kind of car they are driving. This car seems more like for diplomats and diamond merchants who are already a sitting duck target.

They already use puncture resistant run flat/puncture resistant tyres in their standard cars so I assume it'll be the same in the security vehicles.
Is there also special protection for the engine so you can still get away when your engine is being shot at?
@bbikhodi theyre alot heavier haha so they put a bigger dent in the wall but i dont think theyre any stronger structures

But I want to know if the car automatically knows to go into reverse and drive. I assume some people would try this and blow their transmission or something. It seems the high security models have it to switch automatically.

3 Sniper bullets a the same spot. :) Even an Abrams M1A2 cant withstand that.
At 3:40 the road is wet. That makes it easier to make the 180 turn. What about when the road is not wet?

@Cramos2174 It would not withstand .50 Cal, glass considered bullet proof would withstand 9mm, 5.56mm, 7.62mm at most, for a glass to be bullet proof to .50 Cals it would be at least 5 inches thick, too heavy for a car, however .50 Cal only comes from a Barret Sniper or Heavy MG which would be HUGE, an assasin carrying a gun that big can be easily spotted.

The following question:
In what countries does BMW sell BMW Security Vehicles? I am a resident of Brazil and I would liek to purchase a BMW Security Vehicle. Is it possible to send the Security Vehicle from a country that sells the Security Vehicle to Brazil (if it is not a country that sells the aurmored vehicles)?
When BMW vehicles actually looked good.
What about the tires? I mean, what's stopping someone just shooting out the tires? Are they full of foam or something? But nice work from BMW making their high security cars look like a normal BMW's.
Run flats. Nothing to shoot out. Becoming standard on many lines of even non-security non-premium vehicles.

Hi Martin, BMW Security Vehicles are available in three classes. They are based on the common BMW Series.
BMW how good is either X4 and X6 in terms of security am focusing to have one almost end of this year
They currently sell the X5 and the 7 Series as armored vehicles.

I'm surprised that an extremely large company like BMW is satisfied with the production values of this video. Their spokesman, Ralph Seiz repeatedly places discordant emphasis on random words which is quite unpolished for a "Communications Manager". In addition, perhaps he could have waited to completely recover from pink-eye/conjunctivitis of his left eye before submitting himself to video. There are numerous less than effective words used by the voice-over gentleman. I realize that he is just following script and the scriptwriter is accountable for using words such as "fearful" instead of "concerned" and "assassin" instead of "attacker" or "assailant". While the highlighted security vehicles in the video are impressive, the presentation is mediocre.

I would wager a guess the script writers were out of Germany where Assassination is the concern of persons, Internationally the threat varies from South America (KNR) to the Middle east (Terrorism/IED which isn't really what these vehicles are designed for) I'm guessing BMW just sells enough of these to Corporate types that don't "necessarily" have the need for them to justify the division, whereas people who "need" a armored vehicle are getting them from a Coachmaker.

You do realize these will taken an IED or RPG dead on with zero effect and still go out and do triple-digits on the highway, right? Go look deeper for test videos. I've seen these get lifted feet off the ground by explosions and be fine. Specifically designed for such as the presenter mentions.
