- I was back to Samui this time because I've got a kind invitation by Khun Supatra Chirathivat. Her new resort has just been opened - Centara Reserve Samui. It was renovated from the former Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui. Centara Reserve is the highest tier brand by Centara. And Centara Reserve Samui is the first property.
Location :
- Only 15 mins from Samui Airport.
- North eastern part of the island on the most popular and beautiful Chaweng Beach. The property has 260 metres of beachfront line.
Rooms :
- 178 rooms. Spacious.
- Mostly seaview.
- Easy to go to lobby / restaurants / relaxing area / swimming pools / beach. Just walking distance.
- Great bathroom facilities.
- Appropriate for Workation (desk / plugs / fast internet)
Design
- Grand entrance and lobby. I love the colonial style. And natural light is really important for me.
- Many photogenic spots.
- Common areas : big swimming pool. Adult pool.
- Large lawn in from of the resort and next to the beach. We can do yoga in the morning with fresh sea breeze and during early light of the day.
- Many areas to relax by the beach.
- Eco-friendly materials - glass bottles / glasses / glass straw / Water Drop in the room - put in the bed, so staff will not take the sheets to be cleaned yet. Save water.
Activities :
- Canoe / Sailing Boat
- Fitness - the gym is big and has great equipments. Guests can take care of their health while being on holidays.
- Yoga, surrounded by lush green trees.
- Spa Cenvaree. They grow their own organic herbs to be used in the spa. The garden is just beside the Spa building. Also, some plants like Butterfly Pea is used to create welcome drink for all guests.
Food / Restaurants :
- Breakfast (The Terrace)
- Lunch (Salt Society / The Terrace / Pool Bar)
- Dinner (Salt Society / Act 5 / Sa Nga)
- Premium ingredients. Creative Menu e.g. Som Chun - Royal Dish. / 12-hour sous vide beef - so tender and tastes so so good. Also, each dish is like a piece of arts. Very creative presentation. Congee / Prawn Spring Rolls.
- Gin Run - a classic place with outstanding interior. I love the pairing of the colour - Navy Blue and Dark Brown. And the glass windows from floor to ceiling enables everyone to get natural light from 360 degrees. And above all, you get the sea view all the time you are here.
Others :
- Let's support local community - vendors on the beach who sell souvenirs.
- Gimmick from GM - how they display the boiled egg. / the light bulb in the air.
People :
- Very attentive and knowledgeable. When I've got questions about anything, especially about ingredients of the food or how the food is cooked. They can give me great information.
- The staff is very friendly and has nice personality. I think this is the charm of Centara Reserve hospitality.

I am centara member ,, for my taste It's a luxury hotel, but this hotel is not exotic at all, because too much white or whitish of color everywhere and no much wood work used which give you life in it, and very little greenery in the garden area , therefore doesn't put me in island mood .
Cenatara has better hotel like Centara Grand Krabi, even Centara villa samui which was build 20 years ago still outstanding
