- Sur Singh Chak No. 53 is village situated on bank of LBDC( Lower Bari Do,aab) Canal in Tehsil Pattoki, District Kasur. Before partition most of the population consisting on Dhillon Jatt tribe. 3/4 of population was sikh Dhillon jatt and 1/4 were Muslim Dhillon Jatt. Sardar Khem Singh Zaildar was the most well known and notable personality of village. He served the area in remarkable way. School, Post Office and Bridge on LBDC are on his credit. Smadh of Sardar Khem Singh is situated in the west of the village Sur Singh. People of area still recall legendary Khem Singh with high level of respect.

Thanks. My nankey (Mother's side) are Dhillon of Sur Singh near Patti/Amritsar (Majha). They migrated to Sargodha Chak 26. Our family (father side, Last Name Khaira) were in Chak 32 Sargodha (originally from Seron near Tarantaran). Both families migrated to Bar (Ravi's land) for agriculture and had large parcels of land. Our families migrated to India in 1947 and settled near Nakodar (Punjab, India) and most are now in Canada, UK, USA, Australian.

Pehalwan Kartar Singh does not belong to this village mentioned in this video, Sur Singh wala in Amritsar district, but from a village of the same name in Feroze pur district whose ancestors had migrated from Sur Singh near Amritsar just like some of them did to this Chakk Sur Singh near Kasur. They are all Dhillon jats.

Pind Chak 53 Sur Singh was settled around early 1900 in tehsil Chunian of Lahore District. The Dhillon Jatts were originally from Pind Sur Singh in Tehsil Kasur district Lahore, present day Tarn Taran District.
(History of Original Village Sur Singh).
During the time of Guru Arjan Dev Jee, Chaudhri Lal Dhillon became a Sikh through the Sangat of Chaudhri Langah Dhillon of Chabal (Tarn Taran). Who was himself Chaudhri of 84 villages in central Majha the cradle of the Sikh Faith.
Baba Bidhi Chand Chhina Jatt who was a strong well built tall brave Sikh warrior and a saint during the time of Guru Hargobind Sahib the sixth Sache Patshah of the Sikh Religion. He brought back the stolen horses from Lahore Fort in disguise. He took part in all battles under Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee against the invading Mughal forces of Shah Jahan. Guru Hargobind Sahib jee miri piri de Malik, blessed Baba Bidhi Chand as below.

The descandents of Baba Bidhi Chand still live in the majestic haveli located in the eastern side of the village. They own 1,000 Bigha land.
Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee, visited the Village of Sur Singh in 1620's to bless the Sikh Sangat. The villagers built a platform at the place where Gury Sahib had deld Congregational Divaan. Later Sikhs of Sur Singh built a Dharamshala (Gurdwara). A Gurdwara known as Rori Sahib Patshahi Panjvin outside north east of Sur Singh marks the place where Guru Arjan Dev Jee arrived in 1590's.
The Dhillon Jatt Sikhs of Sur Singh also joined the Khalsa Struggle against the corrupt Mughals of Lahore. Sikh Dhillon of Sur Singh joined the Bhangi Misl during Sikh Misl Rule in Central Panjab.
The Dhillon Jatts of Sur Singh were almost entirely Sikhs. They were landlords. 3/4 were Sikhs, only 1/4 were Muslim.
Sikh Dhillon of Sur Singh were well to do Zamindars and Jagirdars. Sur Singh Village was once located in the Patti Pargana of Maajha Region. In 1849, after end of Second Anglo Sikh Wars (1848-49), Patti Pargana was demolished and replaced by two districts Lahore and Amritsar. Sur Singh Village now came under Tehsil Kasur and District Lahore.

Sardar Harchand Singh Dhillon, who was born in 1887, into Jagirdar Dhillon family of Sur Singh was well known in the early 20th Century. He in 1914 protested against the wall demolishment of Gurdwara Rakab Ganj in Delhi by British Government, when houses of Parliament were being built opposite.
Sardar Bakshish Singh Dhillon of Sur Singh who tall, Handsome young staunt Sikh, who supported the Gadri Movement of Independance, was the first Sikh to settle in Astoria north of Carlifornia USA in around 1899.
Zaildar Khem Singh Dhillon was born in Sur Singh Village, he was later awarded land in tehsil Chunian where he founded a Village known as Chak 53 Sur Singh. Named after his original village.
