My hair is 3c and 4a, for fuller locks I use 2 point rotation. This allows more swelling. For 4 c hair some would prefer 4pt rotation to avoid the xtra wide afro look. 4c hair need 4 point rotation to have less swelling because 4c hair naturally swells better than 3c hair.
Thank you! I’ve been debating and this just helped me out so much ❤
hair getting 'extra wide afro look' isnt about type 3, 4 or 5, it is about hair density. I have *fine* 4c hair and I want more volume (the extra wide look u seem to think is bad). My 4c hair does not swell alot just because it is 4c. Thicker density swells faster than finer density.
I been 2pt rotation for 3 years of my loc journey and my locs don’t look flat. They coil & shrink up and are very cylindrical.
That's sounds good and will sure look beautiful too. Everyone Hair texture and density aren't the same so the outcome will definitely not be. That's why it is not advisable to compare locs.
this is straight up geometry. i love this breakdown!
Yipee! A Nigerian loc'd queen 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾just subscribed❤️❤️❤️
Needed this, I maintain mines on my own. I'll do 2pt and 3pt. I have microlocs that I installed myself and they're all different sizes. lol
Glad to hear that🤍
Thank you for the information. I’m starting my local process this weekend. I’m nervous but excited to start!
Thank you for the clarity in explaining. It got a very good understanding and visual in my head
It should be east to west, (ie: right to left), south to north (ie: down to up), west to east (ie: left to right) and north to south (ie: up to down).
For which rotation

Can you dumb down the 3 point please lol😅
@lauragordon7419 this is the loc tool insertion direction: ⬅️⬆️➡️⬇️
i learnt something new today.. Point rotations... At some point, i thought i was in a Geography class.. You really need to write a book on LOCs.. Nice onr
Wonderful! 😃 Not a bad idea
Everything about this video is perfect! The knowledge you are sharing, the way you packed your hair, your makeup, your earrings and even the colour of your shirt.
I absolutely love everything about this video and I wish I could like it a 100 times

The fact that u know much about what u are doing is what stuns me so much about u
Weldone mama Mide

I’m so impressed dear, your research work is deep in btw you look beautiful ❤
Thank you so much!
God bless you, thank you for using the direction metaphor. It really helps with being able to map this process out on my own head.
Glad it was helpful!
So helpful, thank you
I want to start to retie mysef. I will stick to the 3
thank you so much this video really helped me with figuring out how I want to maintain my microlocs, would 2 point rotation big ok on fine hair?
3 points rotations are : 3, 12, 3, 6
i dont have micro locs but i was hoping that i could still get the puffy look if i just did 2 point. thank you for this video ❤
You’re welcome 😊
Should people interlock on dry hair?
It's the dedication for me
Yes🤍 🤩
Great explanation and video!!
Thank you!🤍
God! You are so dedicated and thorough!
It’s quite obvious to see that you study and do your research so well when it comes to locs
I mean, who knew locs can seem like maths like this?🤣
Thank you for doing the knowledge digging for us
😂😂 I didn't know it sounds like maths 🤣
From your description of the 3 point and 4 point rotation, you are making the hair to stand up instead of laying downward.
My dear, you end up in the direction you want your loc to lay, especially is you have short locs. If you have long locs it really does not matter because the weight of the Loc will fall in which ever direction you drop it.
It actually depends on several factors - 1) the style you're trying to achieve after retie 2) Where your major hair parts are 3) the loctitian's handedness (whether left or right) 🙂
Even on the same head, at the same appointment, what you do might vary depending on the current context or circumstances.
I've had so many clients request I do a video on this that I think it's high time I did. Many thanks for giving me the final kick in the pants 😄
@@oluomalocs4964 😀 it's high time. I'll be looking forward to it.
@@aramideugbomeh Now you're making me nervous 😅 I for just keep quiet do am, let me not become promise-and-fail 😅😅 Will try and see what I can do in the next few weeks.
@@aramideugbomeh I agree. It matters how you end the rotation depends on your locs will lay flat.
Don't know if I've said this before, but I LOVE your background and video quality! Just goals all around 😃
Thank youuuu! 🤍 ☺️
Mide, how do you know all these? I am so impressed, you are quite a researcher and you are so knowledgeable about these locs.
Your video quality is top notch too
Thanks love 😁 my cheeks ache from smiling honestly.
Hi!! I would want to know if "retwisting" this way is possible to take down the locs after without cutting it, please!
It is possible, and easier if the Loc strandas are not small/ tiny like in sister loc.
I had 632 and was able to comb mine out after 3 years
@@nafeesha720 wow! Good to know, I can't imagine how much hair you lost. Of course that is unavoidable 😀
How did u even study all of this cuz If this is my niche I would have flop honestly Weldone ❤️
😃 I don't think so
Hi Newbie here 😂 my daughter has micro locs but her hair is fine I do 2 point rotation on her can I switch to 4 point rotation? I honestly want to take her hair down and do them all over but she has a lot of locs and they are almost like sister locs cause of the texture and size I made them
You're welcome beautiful 🤍The size makes sense as long as she has the patience for you to retie. If you don't have any problem with 2 point rotation, it's fine. 4 point rotation makes the hair more compacted and slimmer, if that's appealing to you then try it.
@@aramideugbomeh ahhhh gotcha and yes she will sit and let me do her retie and she’s only 5. I’ll try one and see but making them slimmer I may not be a fan of because they are already small. Thank you for the feedback and I love the knowledge you are providing. I’m a licensed stylist and I’m always a student no matter where I’m at 💕
@@rishamonet1624 Good👍🏽
😢😮I wouldn’t put her through all of that. 😢 just transition her onward with a new rotation❤
@@sandycheeks1580 put her through all of what? She sits and gets her hair done with no problem at all but I’m sticking to 2 point rotation since it’s quicker for me
Demonstrstion would help better 😢
