  • His latest book, Where the Light Fell: A Memoir, is the culmination of more than 50 years for Philip Yancey as a Christian writer. In it, you’ll see a clear display of his two life themes-suffering and grace-which characterize all his books.
Where the Light Fell is remarkably honest as Yancey draws inspiration from God’s Word. He writes, “I know of no more real or honest book than the Bible, which hides none of its characters’ flaws.”
Yancey joined Collin Hansen on Gospelbound to discuss the hinge moment of his life, the scar of his father, the reconstruction of his faith, and more.

I have been a fan of Yancy for 10 years. I am not a natural reader but his are absolutely hard to put down. I love his honesty and humble approach. God bless!

I appreciate the honesty about church wounds, race wounds, and family wounds. Often, people look outside church because we don't speak about the journey of navigating those wounds inside the church--while still seeking God. I'm interested in his book.

I had a strange experience. I was reading Philip Yancey and told the Lord that I'd like to tell Yancey what his books had meant to me but knew that I wouldn't be able to. I met a man who saw Yanceys books on my shelf and asked me if I liked Yancey. I said yes and said that I would like to thank him but obviously couldn't. The man said to me. "Write him a letter. I know him. He lives in my town and I will give it it him " I wonder if he ever got that letter. To me it was a remarkable experience.

I never knew my mother and I barely know my father. My father took me from my mother because she was a drug addict and my grandparents adopted me.

I used to love Yancy, but saddened with some of conclusions that he has come to . Some are given grace and some are outside of his grace.

What are the conclusions? Just curious
