Cut the front wishbone bushes with a recip saw. knock the rubber out first. No need to drop subframe. You will need to make a tool to press in the poweflex ones. Oil leaks will be crank sensor. Oil filter housing to block. Rear crank seal and sump gasket. The power steering leak will be the o ring on the resivour cap. Rings will be worn to hell as will the big ends and mains if over 80.000 miles. Best to rip the engine out & recon the said items
Hi everyone, I've been trying to search out this problem but I can't seem to find anyone who has had all the symptoms I'm having at the same time. So I have a 2006 base Mini Cooper and the EP light continues to flash on and off and when this happens the car randomly shifts gears and most of the time it seems to down shift because the RPMs go up. On top of that the temperature gauge needle will go all the way to the top as if indicating the car is overheating though it is not. Also the tachometer and all the lights on it (check engine and brake) will go completely dead. The speedometer will also die too. Also a number of warning lights will come on and some seem to stay on permanently, like tire pressure sensor, while others just flash on temporarily. This happens for a couple seconds at a time and then things just go back to normal, but things like the check engine light and tire pressure light stay on. This used to be a sporadic occurrence, but now I can't even drive the car because it just keeps bucking so much from the random shifting it's doing. It's almost like the car is possessed. Has anyone ever encountered anything like this. Thanks
