Thank you for putting in the time to do quality content with clear directions. And thank you for leaving off all the theatrics so many creators use. Just clear and to the point.
Presto still makes a nomad traveling cooker but it's rectangular rather than tall like yours. I think you have to put the food directly into the cooker. They run about $90 plus on Amazon. I loved the idea of individual portions in small mylar bags, it's a more economical alternative to mountain house meals in a pouch. Thank you. 🐔
This is amazing! I have been looking for exactly what you are prepping -- meals! Getting started for daughter's family and ours!! THANK you for great instructional videos!!!🐔🐤
🐓🍚Two of my favorite items to combine into great meals!! Thanks Jars for the time you spent developing these recipes! Looks like I have a few extra items to add to my delivery😅
I place a whole bag of flour in the 5 gallon bucket in it's orginal packaging which is not air tight. I place a 3000cc oxygen absorber in the bucket, cover it then use my vaccum sealer to seal the bucket. I also put a bay leaf inside the bucket to deter bugs. I use food grade buckets that I can buy used for $3 cdn with the lids. I just bought 25 buckets for $75 cdn.
Thank you for doing all the prep, creativity and showing options. I have adjusted several of your meals in a jar and meals in a bag to suit my husband's needs. You do a great job showing every detail without it being too much information.
Thank you for your yummy receipts, I have IBS and ALL of the freeze dried foods give me NO problems. The freeze drying seems to make the foods digestible. We LOVE your receipts. I cant seem to find the Zappa Tuscany receipt though…… Thanks
Perfect timing thank you. I have been building my thrivelife stock and need to put them together. Thank you for the printable recipes. Will be this weekend's project.
That looks delicious. I sitting here thinking that they could be made without chicken. Make it with cheese and broccoli or just broccoli. I could cook up chicken when i use them or use them as a side dish. Added. I bet adding the pepper jack cheese to the southwest chicken would be awesome.
Thank you for the recipe ideas!! I know for me it hasn’t been easy to figure out what to make, since I have to be Gluten Free (Celiac) and trying to figure out what ingredients would go with rice or potatoes just so I can get something filling and taste good. 🐓🍚
Meals in jars are super smart and handy. I do a lot of pressure canned meals. That measuring machine is fantastic! First, I've heard of the ghee packs and powdered sour cream. Crepes look delicious. Banana bread is going in the oven now. I missed out on emarchency... I'll catch some vids. 🍓
Thank you for all of your hard work making these 🐔🍚recipes for us. I would have to add cheese sauce and some freeze dried Rotel😊 to make Chicken Spaghetti.😋
I have one of the small crock pots. I use it to warm my grand baby's bottle, and it works fine. I have to watch it or it will get too hot, so I think it would be perfect to heat up your freeze-dried meals. Thanks for the idea! I have not tried to actually cook anything from scratch in it.
Hi Jara, I just got an email from allrecipes that said Walmart is selling a new line of spices from McCormick that's only in stores for the fall and Christmas season. They are all for fall and Christmas baking, but they are also good for coffees and rimming your favorite cold weather cocktails. The email also said that Amazon has already sold out of them. Just in case you have any ideas for a video of cold weather foods or powdered drink mixes that canned up for the pepper pantry or to give to family and friends to warm up their spirits.
My favorite that might be made this way is called Cookout Rice. A one pot meal from my camp counselor days. Rice cooked in onion soup mix (nowadays I just use beef bullion), ground beef and peas.
Hi WP, I like your videos. In past I used a video of your regarding instant meals and made the one using Green Enchilada sauce and liked it but I didn't save the vid and can't find it. Can you pass that along please?
Very good video! FYI - I fall in the small percentage of people who doesn't like cilantro (tastes like soap). May I replace the freeze dried cilantro with parsley?
I just ordered the ingredients to make this. Do you think I would need to change the recipe at all if I ordered Freeze dried carrots from Thrive life instead of using dehydrated carrots?
@carriegoff1813 Thrive Life's carrots are dehydrated. One on only a few (maybe the only?) of their foods they don't freeze dry. Jara explained it's because freeze-dried carrots turn whitish and customers didn't find them appealing.
Re a Nomad alternative. Thermous used to make a wide mouth soup tgermos. That can bevused to add your single meal, boiling water and let steep. Have used that method to cook wheat berries.
Thank you for this video! I have a quick question. How long would these jars last packed in this way? Would I still get the 20 years of FD food shelf life if stored in a cool dark place? Thank you for your time and great video!
It's usually expected to get about 8 years shelf life from a properly sealed and stored jar meal. I can't say I've had any on my shelf longer than that to test it out, though!
This looks yummy. I’m making it! But I had to laugh: plenty of Rum?? My parents in law and husband are from Casco. lol. So I wasn’t confused. It’s just one of those giggly pronunciations here. Here in the South words like room almost have 2 syllables. Rooooom
Hello hopefully you are all staying warm in the nasty weather we been having. Question the mylar bag you used in the video, since the top area above the ziplock wasn't sealed, is the bag reusable? Also on last week's video about the pantrychic i have question. Once you have assigned an item to a canister does that canister always have to be refilled with that item? Example your baking soda and baking powder run out at the same time, once washed say you don't remember which canister is which an you fill the canister with opposite item can you change that on the machine? Or if you use different items seasonally can the canister be charged to new item? Thank you 🍚🐔
Hi Jara, Thanks for all the great videos. We are full-time rv'ers so long-term storage is limited due to our storage space. I want to get the Veloute, sour cream powder, and some other items. I am confused about the Thrive Life program. Is there a monthly/yearly membership fee? I don't want to sign up for automatic deliveries. Can I order a few items through your link and pay the delivery charges? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
@shar2376 sure! There are no fees or membership. You can certainly just place a normal retail order. Another thing that many people do, is to start a Delivery to get the benefits, then switch it off (its easy to do it yourself in the account settings) until the next time they wish to order. There is no minimum amount or number of times you have to order. If that's something you would be interested in doing it would get you the delivery sale prices, 15% off non sale items, and free shipping if your order was over $99. This video might be helpful if you think you might want to do that. ltl.is/byzrt9m Or you can just place a regular retail order. wickedprepared.thrivelife.com/shop whichever you're more comfortable with. Either way there are no membership fees or anything like that. I hope this was helpful!
Would it work the same if I use the Thrive Life Instant Rice? Guessing that’s a yes, but did not want to assume. New to using my TL that I’ve been accumulating.
These look like something I could really get on board with! I went to your Thrive site to look at the ingredients list. Since I have soy allergies, I have to be very careful of the ingredients I use. Looking at the Veloute, it shows modified food starch. It does not state if that is corn, soy etc. Is there a way I can know for sure if it contains soy?
@@CarrietsHouseAndGarden I guess I didn’t realize I could call them… I didn’t even check to see. So many companies only have email replies that can take forever. Most of the time if I can call them, they state that they are unwilling to provide that information because it’s part of their “secret” recipe. I will give them a call and see if they are able to tell me. Thanks for the info.

I so appreciate the written recipes and links - THANK YOU!

Neat ideas! P.S. Dehydrated potatoes are not good. They're like rubber. I could not soak and boil to get them back to a good texture.
Your videos are so wonderful. I really enjoy them and learn so much. 🐔 🍚 🐓

definitely making these, thanks for sharing!
Chicken and rice

Making the SW version also.
YOU Could use a BABY BOTTLE TRAVEL WARMER For a food warmer🤔🤷♀️❤🐔
If it was me I’d have done green onions and beef bouillon and celery flakes in stead of the cream and peas
All I can say yummy yummy

I am curious do you purchase dehydrated black beans or do you dehydrate black beans your self.
Personally I purchase then but some people do dehydrate their own. For me time is a factor.
