Artists who can’t describe “their point” strike me as more likely being men who simply don’t know themselves (which is normal) but are too proud to admit they are a mystery to themselves, an obnoxious habit. God DOES Know Himself if anyone does, and God does not feel such an unclean thing like “pride”.

Up until the 20th century and the rise of atheism as an extension of marxist political theory, that was literally the way every intellectual in the western world thought of science and scientific progress.
Tbf that bit has been in Christian theology for centuries. The idea that humans must advance and prosper and learn is literally written down in the book of Genesis.
We don't need to "reconcile science and religion." Christians invented science as a way to understand God's creation. If anything, Christians need to reclaim science from the atheists who think science can explain everything.

So much of the church is chaff these days unfortunately. People are waking up though so there is hope.

I think Jay Dyer will convert Alex to Orthodoxy eventually. Everything informing Jay’s brilliant analysis of the corruption is derivative of the Orthodox Church fathers. Its my perspective that people holding up their own religions as complete and perfect is sheer arrogance. If people wrote the bible through the will of God and its messages change over the generations it was being written in, why do people assume it is complete? You can't cram an infinite unfathomable God into a finite book. And if the force that compelled people to write the Bible ever existed, then they exist in people today. People are so quick to dismiss the views of others and without humility, none of us improve.

That is not the point of Dune, which is very, very complex. In fact, Paul is not necessarily a charismatic character at all.

Pilgrim, I have seen some of your videos and you appear to be interested in topics regarding religion, so I think it would be cool if you could review the movie "Silence." I think it has some interesting themes about how the spread of a peaceful religion can lead to suffering and whatnot, and I just think you with your insights could make a pretty good review on it. If you havent seen the movie yet and plan on doing so, I will warn that it is very intense and violent.

When Kynes visited the people he had such a compelling vision of how to terraform the planet that when it came time for the assasin to strike, he buried the knife into his own chest.

I can agree, though… I’m not sure that it is even in crazy terms. It’s a spiritual battle on the scale of which he speaks. It seems crazy to most people but to Christians it is understood very well.
