This seems relatively similar to my "Antisocial" challenge run I completed a long while back, on Hard Mode + Hard Hits, I wasn't allowed to open any dialogue boxes that weren't necessary. Dialogue boxes are defined as any character speaking. This prevented me from taking quests, but also prevented me from buying items or cooking food (until the Termite Kingdom!), so it was really rough. I did it, though!
If you're wondering, the Termite Kingdom gives you access to the almighty Microwave, which isn't a character unless you want to tell me that it's alive/can have a full conversation with you

Yeah that's the thing I love about this game's battle system. It's extremely flexible to enable challenges which just test what your imagination can think of. Happy you enjoyed the video!
Dark Cherries finite? Er... no? You can just but them from the vendor in... the bar. Which you can't get into without beating Scarlet. Which you can't do because this is a no quest run. Hoo boy.

I have a great challenge for you to try. The bug fables minimal pacifist challenge! beat the game while completing the least amount of quests and collecting the least amount of items, exp, key items, and medals. you'll get bonus points for not getting chompy and minimizing the number of tp you use. as for which of these criteria should be prioritized over each other? I'll let you decide.
It's original use was in the original Crash Bandicoot. Specifically the levels Hog Wild and Whole Hog. But yes Naughty Dog did reuse it in the CTR photo album.
Well done! I tried this challenge myself but was kind of unprepared when I reached B33 so I gave up on it. Re: Dark Cherries, aren't they technically not finite because Deadlander Gamma drops them very rarely?
If they can actually drop it, I'd suppose yes. But I had no idea of that when first recording this and can neither confirm or deny if it's even a thing.
@@sweetphoenix5386 Fought about a dozen Dead Lander Gammas just now and I don't see them dropping anything. Not even berries. So unless anyone can produce one in game from fighting one, the wiki is wrong.
@@PhantomAarantula Did some testing myself, I think they changed something about how Gamma works, because they don't drop anything period, not even the restore stuff you get with Pip Finder, though I recall getting a Dark Cherry from Gamma in an earlier patch

I might try that... but I've got a huge backlog of ideas as is and this seems more like something to optimize if the TP restriction is any indication.
Now I'm happy I did all the quests possible in my first playthrough. That and the quests are great of course
