ah yes i had a game like this yesterday but i played NC3 after the queen moved to check, he took the pawn, i played ND5, he took E5 with the night with the same checkmate blunder

Play the "mainline" (4. Bf4) and simply don't fall for one of Black's simple traps. White will win. Black might do well at the club level, but only if White is not prepared. Don't be unprepared. Refuting the Englund gambit is easy, even for a mediocre player like me.
*sheepish smile* The club level win rate is why I like to play the Englund Gambit as Black haha
Haha yeah it can work!
I've been trying out Queen's gambit so I've been preparing for d4 responses, this helped me a lot. Thanks!
Thanks ! Very clear and very helpful !
Glad you liked it Ron!
Good video. Just finished a game that gave me a mate in 7 against the Englund so thanks fellas!
Nice job!
Thank you! I haven't lost to the Englund since watching this video.
Great to hear!
very helpful. Thanks.

On move #5 - white Qd5
I play this as my main line funny enough there is a cool queen sac variation on c3 that can be complicated I generally win on time in bullet and blitz
You won’t become a better chess player playing that line

Yes. Thanks for watching.
@@tiagomoraes1510 LOL!
What about 2... f6 or 3... f6 variations?
Good questions Gary. I'll plan on doing a small video on them.
Where can I find the club level database ?
Lichess database set to 1600-2200, excluding bullet.
