I'm a woodturner and use a lot of black walnut. I love the character it tends to hide on the inside. And the way it finishes like glass.
    Take care, Dave

Thanks Aaron. I think that you should start a Go Fund Me page so you can buy a clock battery. 😂😂

If your using the blue windshield wiper fluid, maybe that might be what’s causing the blue effect on your slabs. Idk.

@@RaySwitzer i talked to a professional logger last week. He told me its a reaction to the metal blades. He said he sees it all the time from his chainsaw chains also.

So it’s 3:04 all the time there?

I'm guessing colors are coming from the inner sapwood changing into heartwood through the mineralization and compartmentalization of the cells.
Are you going to sell the slabs or use them for yourself? I'm curious where a person sells slabs...I'll be doing some milling as well and thought it would be nice if I could sell a few here and there to supplement my expenses of buying and maintaining the mill.

Yes i do sell them here and there from word of mouth and on facebook marketplace sometimes. Others are giveaways etc. But most of the time use them myself. Thanks for watching!

How much does a slab go for?

All depends on size thickness and species. Also wheather kiln dried or not. Around here i try to sell walnut arount 5 to 6 dollars per board ft. Which is very cheap compared to the other local people in the state for $8 or more.
