Since 2015, Yundi Li has been appointed to sit in the judging committee of the "Chopin Society" for the international competition. Previously, in 2000 at age 18, Li was given the "Polonaise award" by the Chopin Society for winning the the International Frederic Chopin Piano competition. In May 2010, in recognition of his contribution to Polish culture, the Polish minister and National Heritage presented him with a silver medal of the 'Gloria Arts' order of merit. In August, 2017, Yundi Li performed both Chopin concertos with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra as both the pianist and the conductor. Thank you, Philip Sam
According to the music notes in this masterpiece, the 1st and 3rd movements are marked with 'brilliance'. Yundi Li with his brilliant technique, he 100% achieves it and so far he is the best performer in this version in the world-class. The 2nd movement is marked with 'expression' which characterizes personal response to the music or making APPROPRIATE USE of dynamics, phrasing, timbre and articulation to bring the music to life. That's only my suggestion to this performer to SLOW AND ADJUST the dynamics with respect to the soft and tender romantic rhythm.
Claudio Arrau's version is, by far, Most Romantic, but then, Yundi was only in his early twenties when he played this. I miss Yundi. May the Goddess of Mercy bless him always.
What a spectacular execution of Chopin Fantasie Impromptu piece. Yundi Li plays it with such a wonderful pace, mastery, and passion, it is a joy to listen with undivided attention! He makes the piece come alive!
my music plays inside of me at all times too. definitely one of my favorite pieces although overplayed. passacaglia by handel, waltz no 19 in a minor, un sospiro, all up there with it.
I would welcome the technique, the technical ability from years of training/playing that these famous pianists have..... and then enjoy the rest of my life as never before.
To compare to Lang Lang… Yundi Li has a better interpretation of the piece. Lang Lang captures the “FANTASIE” character very well. But here this is a more beautiful version.

If anyone had play this song before can they tell me how to speed up while keeping the right hand clear? I’m having trouble getting faster without missing so much notes, or just be faster at all lol... and also my right hand is so muffled, you can hear the overall melody direction but the individual notes don’t standout, is it because my hand is too flat and don’t use the tip enough or is it something else? if anyone knows this piece well please give some tips. I also love Li Yundi’s interpretation that’s why I came here
To everyone who has critizised this performance or anything, can you play this piece as fast? If not, don't say it is bad. At least he can play it! This applies to everything you scorn.
Yet it's not to sound out of control. Sections here are played faster than the music score was written. Intonation is excellent. Technique is unbelievable.
i think this is a great performance so I have nothing but respect for the playing. but the idea that people cannot critique a piece of music just because they cannot play it is kind of dumb. people who don't cook routinely criticize food if its bad, people who don't make movies can tell you if they like or dislike a film without others making a fuss of their comments. people who can't sing a note shoot down pop music all the time too. classical music is no different really.
I am a great admirer of Yundi and as a Chinese I am also proud of him, but I must say I like Claudio Arrou's version more, in particular, his arrangement of the piece towards the end.
No, it wasn't, because in some sections it was too fast, sounding out of control. Nevertheless the technique is excellent and the intonation very good indeed.
lang lang is just a showbiz performer, his audiences probably doesnt know how suck he is, so whatever lang lang plays seem to be appreciated very much by them
Beautifully-played, but where was his input? Closing one's eyes and looking at the ceiling only says to me that he doesn't need to look at his hands - - - - it doesn't mean he is enraptures by his own playing: that is for the audience to think he's into it!!
No one plays this impromptu like yundi

This is THE BEST version of Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu Op. 66!!! Brillliant play from Yundi Li!!!
Yes 👍🏿
it sounds slightly faster than his performance here; th-cam.com/video/tvm2ZsRv3C8/w-d-xo.html which I like better
To me this version with Yundi Li is by far the best! He is so expressive and his technique is brilliant,
George Marton Lisiecki is better
George Marton you should look up dmitry shishkin, his chopin competition video is my favorite. the expression was flawless.
George Marton same here. Lang Lang is also good, but he plays a little bit too fast.
George Marton une
But it isn't.
He CLEARED that shit. Hands down the cleanest version I've ever seen.
"He cleared that shit" why you use such vulgar expression to such a beauty masterpiece?
@@maxverstappennonofficial exactly!
This is so much beautiful that I can't complete my day listening this!
Shit is the way you express yourself
@@maxverstappennonofficial because people who are not sipping tea and being an aristocrat can also listen to beautiful stuff...
His play really touch my heart.
So far Yundi Li is the number one interpreter of Chopin's musical soul.

Beautiful play, talented pianist, I support you forever

Amazing and simply the best ever, always brings a tear to my eye..

Hat off to yundi in this piece of performances.
He plays this song the best. Best.
Fantastic !
My favorite piece of all. I want to have this played at my funeral. Chopin music plays inside of me, all the time. Ha Ha Ha.

wonderful, I can see that it has influences from the great master Claudio Arrau
Impressive playing, really spectacular.

Just practice the voicing of the left hand slowly, left hand is actually more important here, especially the left hand pinky parts
Play with a metronome, digital metronome overlay if you have a digital piano. This will fast track your progress 100x
I am still learning, I play both hands 🙌 separately on piano 🎹.
@@David-mq5sl l have an acoustic and digital piano 🎹. Plus the traditional metronome.
He is too famous so I always listen to it no cuz my teacher gave me this piece to learn and it is my favourite piece
상상하던 완벽한 즉흥환상곡의 소리다 ,,
Aside of his personal sax behavior, I see nothing can erase his music talent, and shouldn't, it should viewed separately.
stop talking about the sex behaviour

Li and Lang
Chopin was like “i payed for the whole piano im gonna use all the piano”
LOL
Fax tho his compositions were and still are a full course meal of a musical creation
@Yang Zhiyi your name sounds Chinese so I don't doubt that
So unoriginal :(
but in this piece you don't play in the whole piano and stop take people's comment
wow sans
Love this. Hate the camera man though. We just want to see him play, not his face the entire time. 😾
Tc725 his facial impression expresses his emotions so videoing his face is correct
Also rendering the audience's perspective so there's that.

윤디리 정말 잘쳤었는데ㅜ
Trop mécanique. Manque de modulation.
Heureusement que l'œuvre du génie Chopin a été sauvée du feu.
totally perfect and amazing only just a little bit too much nervous
i prefer slower versions
There is no slow version
This is Fantaisie impromptu !!
Still have to keep to the tempo of the score.
Too faster! Not at all the best version.
Rip, perhaps he'll be imprisoned... and that's it to his career, such a wasted talent 😩
No way 😬😔
Little too fast for my taste
Feels rushed.
2forgildan Check out Lang Lang's version. THAT would be rushing.
Yeah, not a fan of Lang Lang at all. I read a review where someone else pejoratively referred to him as "Bang. Bang". Ouch.
Fabulous technique no doubt.
Yet FC would turn in his grave at how lacking in passion this is.
Oh shut up
对比霍洛维茨的演奏,不得不说云迪还是理解浅了,没有画面感。
I don’t get why so many people play that fast, it just takes the beauty away
To show off that’s why fast
Inappropriate tempo. Otherwise, quite great technique.
Too fast or too slow
Considerably faster than the score in some sections, thus inappropriate.
cold and mechanical
I agree, it's not his best performance.
Listen to the other performances of Yundi Li ------- They are better
Can’t agree, the fact of being fluid is not same to be “mechanical” hahaha.
@@TheOne-zl7wn ... as being ...
