Such hands! Such a mind! Such a soul! And mind you at 78 years old! Those hands move as they did at 16, and from then til now no hands have rivaled them! We are indeed blessed to hear this as she nearly died from two bouts of cancer! What a miracle you're hearing!

Not since Van Cliburn's historic 1958 Concert in Moscow, has Widmung been played with such feeling and impeccable taste. I believe Martha is among the very greatest pianists of all time.
One of the early 60's young and brilliiant pianists from Argentina. Had a really rough go with aggressive skin cancer and was treated by world famous cancer surgeon in Santa Monica, CA. Glad she is still here and making the world a better place with her talent and warmth. Widmung always brings joy and tears to me since I heard it played on UCAL Schoenberg stage in 1970.
Just look at how young her arms, hands and fingers look, she was 78 there! Means that we still have several years of Martha Argerich in concert, fortunately! Long live to her!!

One feels privileged to inhabit the same planet as an artist such as this. My errant former Dutch partner's father was a pupil of hers. That's as far as my connection goes. I know little of Martha's private life, but I do so hope she enjoys a good one; such a genius deserves it.
I think Kissin's interpretation is too neat and delicate... I prefer interpretations with a sense of youthful exuberance as Martha did.@@roimanthabah9513

I don't know which was more beautiful.... Miss Argrich (always so wonderfully active), the music (breathtaking and pulsing), or the grand Steinway (such a masterpiece)..... if I have to vote , I'd be for the music, which wins by lightyears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A superb rendition of this masterpiece. It is always interesting to compare & contrast how some pianists caress the keyboard [as in this performance-not to forget Horowitz of course]] as others adopt a somewhat more "aggressive" approach as they attack it.

This Widmung performance by Archerich is so beautiful. It's so cool to see him play it naturally like a stream. Also, the song is full of loveliness. It's such a perfect combination of a song and a pianist.

９０年代末のリコ・グルダ、そして最近の赤星里奈と森本麻衣という、新進気鋭のピアニスト達の演奏でこの曲を聴いた後、ふと、円熟の境地にある巨匠ピアニストがこの曲をどう弾くのか聴いてみたくなった。
TH-camで現在聴ける演奏には、ラン・ランやエフゲニー・キッシンのものもあるが、成熟の域に達したベテランという意味では、アルゲリッチには敵わない。

アルゲリッチの演奏は、ウィーンやボンなどで私も何度か生のコンサートで聴いたことがある。
いつでも彼女の演奏は、驚くような快速なスピードで駆け抜ける。
その技術の卓抜さは否定すべくもないが、メシアンのようなものならともかく、モーツァルトなどだと、もう少し一つ一つの音を慈しむように弾いてもいいのではないかと思ったものだ。

だが、このリスト編曲版の《献呈》は、そうした私の危惧をひっくり返すようなものだった。
アルゲリッチの卓抜な技巧は、細かな内声のピアノの音を、まるで一つ一つの音がもはや存在しないかのように溶かし込みながら、リートの旋律を鮮やかに浮かび上がらせるのだ。

輝かしい愛の悦びに溢れたリコ・グルダの演奏、優しくやわらかにけぶるような音の響きに包み込む赤星里奈の演奏、希望の光に輝く婚礼の鐘に沸き立つ心と婚礼を前にした複雑な心境の変化を映し出していくような森本麻衣の演奏。
どれも決して悪くはないのだが、繊細なテンポ・ルバートを掛けながら歌うリートの旋律に、淡い光を添えるように超絶技巧が柔らかく絡みついて行くアルゲリッチの演奏は、演奏技巧の成熟ということからいえば、やはりピカイチだ。
