    The imagery and the way he aligns the imagery with the music is so profound. Genius.

      I think he uses the imagery he has in his mind when he plays it which helps him get out the colours he tries to put out when he plays the piece.
      Really impressive

    I am playing the piece myself. Wonderful instruction here. The deeper the student goes into practice, the more beauty unfolds. My teacher was strict: Start left and right hands separately and play very slowly for a longer time. Use left accords only without playing sixtoles when starting both hands. Once left and right are mastered by heart separately then introduce polyrhythm carefully. Do not use pedal in practice at all but play an extreme legato in left hand. Every tone must sing by itself. Keep rotating hands and release tension in each half circle. The lighter hands become, the better the sound unfolds and the faster and more even hands can play. Enjoy listening and practicing. Chopin is a treasure.

    • @RolandHuettmann
      @RolandHuettmann 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@raniadahayu1412 By no means I would claim to have mastered it, but to learn it by heart, it took me about three months with a regular 1-hour practice per day. To play it really well enough it takes much more time. Imagine at least a year for an advanced student depending on practice hours, talent, and a good teacher at hand. Even leave it aside for a month or two and then come back. Hire a teacher!

  • @davidbee8178
    @davidbee8178 7 ปีที่แล้ว +54

    This is an outstanding example of how a true virtuoso like Katsaris interprets a piece of music - whether the young girl (who is so advanced for her age!) decides to interpret it, as Katsaris does, in the future should be her decision but what hopefully comes across as a true treasure to her (and ALL of us here) is that trying to "image" the composer's intent is paramount in trying to convey emotion. Whether we interpret EXACTLY as the composer intended is perhaps not always entirely possible but at least if there is an attempt at portraying an image or story, then a musician has a chance to convey an emotion rather than just stringing a whole bunch of notes together. Emotions conveyed is true artistry while notes that are just played, is well . . . just playing : )

    全部の音を和音にして押さえたままメロディーになる音とか強調する音だけ何回も弾く練習法もっと早く知りたかったです!2回目の変化トリルの使い方も勉強になります。。

    Its one of the most difficult Chopin pieces.. I so envy for talented people who can learn this so quickly in this young age and carry this amazing playing abilities through life and enjoy..The best soul healing talent ever and purest antidepressant.

      It's been no problem for me. Only about 12 years of learning, then not playing it because of bad habits, and then playing it again now about the last 5 years and still failing, LOL. So yeah, no single problem, but many many problems. That said, I have finally advanced to the point where I might gain some insight from this lesson.

    Good lesson. His advice at 4:23 into the video reminded me of Op. 28 No. 8 by Chopin. 8 note figures where the weight is on the first note...

    An excellent presentation...Wonderful teaching. Such combination of beautiful music and the entourage creates special atmosphere. Mind is starting to operate in different mode. It was a fusion from another world with present time....Thank you very much.

    22:06 I think this a lot about some of Chopin's music (sorrowful acceptance). Just beautifully described.

    Having just learned this piece this just reminds me how badly I am playing it now lmao. So helpful to have this video to refer to though.
