Such a cool video! This is SO FUNNY. Cause my dad and I were watching this, and that was his truck with the tape. His friend did it as a prank for when we got back to the truck after hiking. 😂 this is awesome. Such a beautiful hike over there.
@@baileyprice2249 Ha ha, yes! The mystery is finally solved! Beata and I were wondering if we would ever hear from the truck owners and find out what that tape and spray paint was all about. Awesome prank, and now it’s captured on video for all time. Thanks for letting everyone know the backstory, ha ha!
Thanks, that is a very nice comment! We really like feedback like yours. It helps to get us motivated to record and edit our next adventure and thereby give other outdoor enthusiasts ideas for their own adventures. Happy trails!
As an Idaho resident, I'm so grateful for you showing me lakes iv never even heard of! We love hiking away from the crowds and off the beaten path, so we're glad to have found you. 👍
Hi Sarah, thank you for the wonderful comment. We hope our videos give you some ideas and inspiration for hiking, and backpacking. Idaho is definitely a unique state with so many hidden gems and we will try and explore as many as we can. 😊
@@beataclintadventures304 I meant to add, as @malencid did, that we love the style of your videos, drone footage, music and intermittent commentary. Thanks! Glad you liked the video and the hike to Miriam! The road to Kane lake is way better and much shorter. The hike to Kane is a tiny bit longer and has more vert, but since you hiked to Miriam you will have no problem with Kane. Have a great time on you upcoming hike!
Thanks so much for the kind words! We have another video in the can that will be released very soon. It’s always great to watch a summer time videos in the middle of winter ha ha.
Thank you, droning is definitely one of our favorite ways to see certain areas. Pass Lake is definitely on our bucket list, we have heard that it’s a bit more strenuous, but that the lake is very scenic.
Great video. This is the second one I’ve watched. The first one was the iron bog lake video. I live in Arco so I know where I’ll be spending my summers from now on.
I hiked up to North Fork Lake this past summer (2nd time, the first being about 8 years ago). Please know that the trail is very faint and heard to follow for the first 1-2 miles from the trailhead. Not sure if it is in a different jurisdiction, or if it just gets far less use than other trails in the area (Kane, Boulder, Moose, Betty, etc., but it did not appear to be maintained at all. @@beataclintadventures304
I'm getting addicted to your nice videos, with the added bonus of really nice job on the drone shots. Have spent all my 70+ years of life in the beloved Olympic Mountains, mostly off trail, starting with my grandfather. I drive a little Corolla that has a surprisingly high clearance - at least for a sedan - and have gone up some pretty wild Forest Service spur roads to get close to the ONP boundary. That said, I wonder if I can get within maybe 4 or 5 miles of the trailhead...I don't mind hiking roads at all...just not like 10 miles of road hiking or something like that. What do you think? Can I get fairly close to the trailhead? I appreciate you guys, looking forward to more videos.
Hello Lawrence, thanks for the great comments and we are glad that you like the videos! It’s great to hear your stories and it’s cool that you got your start hiking with your grandfather. I would not recommend trying to access Miriam Lake with a passenger car. There are just way too many big rocks and a couple of steep sections, Kane Lake, iron bog, or sawtooth lake would be 100% doable with your Corolla, I could be wrong though about Miriam Lake so it might be worth it to make the attempt but my gut tells me you really do need a four-wheel-drive vehicle for that one. thanks again and good luck!
Wow, what a quick reply! Okay, I'll take your advice, you know the road. I totally appreciate this information. Regarding Kane Lake, I loved that video as well. I especially liked your side trip up the waterfall to that little cirque/basin with the mini-tarn. Gorgeous, my kind of off-trail place. Looks like some careful scrambling would get me up there, even with a bit of an overnight pack to bivouac up there. I like that kind of stuff. I was reading recent reports about Kane Lake, and they indicated that the road is "worse than ever", whatever that means. I'll look at Iron Bog and Sawtooth Lake, though Kane looks awfully nice. Planning for last week of July. I assume there will be some crowds, but looks like a fair number of somewhat isolated camps. If you guys ever get over this way, hit me up for the really "good stuff" in the backcountry Olympic Mountains...a lifetime of hiking makes me a human encyclopedia for that area. Also, if you are headed for North Cascades at some point, I have some "beauty spots" that will knock your sox off as well. If it would appeal to you to read about my grandfather and his wonderful influence on me, I have a little memoriam about him that I think you two would like, about a five minute read. In any case, keep on hitting us with those beautiful videos. :-) @@beataclintadventures304
@@laurencesmith1490 hey Lawrence, awesome post! We really appreciate your comments and the offer for information on the cascades and Olympic mountains. we have been wanting to hit up those areas and check them out for a very long time. Are drones allowed here? I'm thinking of doing the same hike and I'm new to drones and have been having trouble finding parks that allow them in Virginia, where I'm from
Hi Rocketsworld, drones are good to go as long as not used in wilderness areas, state parks, national parks, or near airports. We hope you enjoy your hike, when you visit Idaho.
@@beataclintadventures304 Thanks! I’m still trying to figure out how to find places like Salmon-Challis that allow drones. Almost all hiking areas in VA are State Or National parks so it’s hard to find a good hike that is also drone friendly

I'm surprised how few snow banks there were at 10000 ft. Was it a low snow year in the Lost River Range this year?
from what I understand, this was actually one of the deepest snow years in recent history in the LRR. it tends to be a very dry range
